@battery, I didn't realise that the BBC was blocked-off from anybody. Weird!

Of course, they try to justify eating dogs as having medicinal and magical powers.

Although R.M. does seem to own a TV station here now so we can get fox. Most of it is still blocked via the internet though. I can't even get to BBC via proxy.

Without sounding too dumb, I thought that the interweb thingy was monitored in China? Unless of course you aren't in China and I am a complete dumbass. Which I probably am of course.

When they cencor the web it's not like they go through every email coming in and out of china and tipEx out the bits they don't like.

They just block a chunk of websites, expecally ones where you can set up weblogs etc and some media companies. Companies often block IP ranges coming out of China too because of all the twat script kiddies and spammers here.

As for tippexing out emails, you know, you don't need to be sarcastic. I was genuinely interested, after all your country isn't exactly famous for enlightening its people, you could show a good example and help educate those who don't know a lot about it....

I don't think the great firewall is that high any more. most of the web is available. I can get to wiki via proxy and that has enough info about China on it.

@battery, when I was in China a few years back we could get BBC News 24 in the hotels. Is it still restricted just to the big international hotel chains.
