It has been said before, I like the Human v. Human gaming aspect. And I hate turds that take advantage of the weak. I have other RL reasons but I cannot post them here.

My therapist told me I needed to get out more and meet interesting people. She is impressed that I know Prof. Charles Soludo Many "Doctors" and the children of several dead presidents. I also have told her I am doing charity work by helping orphans that are 24 years of age (and female).

Okay, some of that is true. I do it because I can and these criminals irk me to no end. I am also a "nice person" in RL and baiting I am a regualr bastard (or so I have been told). Laughing

I work retail. The urge to kill has been growing for some time.

I also don't pretend to be doing this for any greater good. It's nice and all, and it makes rationalizing it easy, but at the end of the day, I'm in it for the sadistic humor. Twisted Evil

I'm also generally nicer if people are smarter. >_>

Still, I try to be fair and honorable towards pretty much everyone (who deserves it...). I'm pretty bad at lying too, maintaining a web of lies is usually too much work. Heh, being honest a liability, who'd a thunk it?

Dealing with criminals, thugs, liars and the such on a daily basis, the only real stress release I have is baiting and vacationing "out west" or in the mountains. Vacation only come once a year so the lads really pay for it on those really bad days!!

I have a lot of anger that needs to be vented or otherewise channeled. (I used to work in retail as well, think of the film "Clerks").

Thieves to me are one of the lowest forms of life - not worthy of my oxygen.

I've never been scammed to where a scammer got any of my money, but I've lost a lot of eBay listing fees from scammers buying stuff from me to try a scam on me. So I figure they owe me some entertainment.

I've only got 4 or 5 baits going that actually respond to me, but a couple of them have been getting really frustrated with me, I can tell by their responses. Now they know how I feel.

I like to give these assholes something "back", i. e. I wanna give them what they deserve. A world full of shit and nothing but frustration.

Moreover - it may sound funny - it's a good means to improve your ability of speaking English. Of course, you don't learn from the poor English the scammers speak/write, but using it is also some sort of "training":

When I told my collueagues about my "baiting business" they first laughed and thought it was kinda "wasting time" - but when I first came up with the first trophies they laughed even more and said things like "you rock" and "I think I have to start baiting too!".

Well, anyway - it's funny like hell, and I like it. Doing some "noble" thing here, too, is some sort of "byproduct".

I call it productive procrastination. It allows me to avoid the things I should be doing in favor of something that feels like I�m involved in something worthwhile.

Even though in the grand scheme of things it�s small. And does scant little to tangibly improve my life, and drags me away from my friends, family, and career.

Wow. Maybe I should stop. Maybe I could put all of this energy into starting a business. Or teaching my kids about life. Or maybe I could start a charity, or invent a way to keep the shower curtain from attacking me in the morning. Or maybe I should go and spend five minutes just talking to my lonely elderly neighbor.

Naaah. (Off to check my baiting accounts.)

Thank you members for all the responses. I have been laughing at the reasons why people bait.

I will wait for more responses and try to make a psychological profile
of the scambaiter. I guess I should have asked for the baiters gender.
It will take me a while but it should be fun.

41st Suss3x L1ght 1nfantry, a scammer, A sl0gg 0f f0am and The k1ngd0m of M0nr0via.
In the real world I live in a country where planes plummet out of the sky every thirty minutes or so, and you can't move for all the trunks stuffed full of cash and old relatives are popping their clogs at an amazing rate.

Or is it a padded cell with a nice tight fitting suit?

I only started last week and my reasons for doing so are:

1) My mum received a snail mail lottery scam (fortunately she didn't do anything about it and made very wary espec as it was sent direct to home addy. She doesn't have internet).

2) Heard soooo many stories about ppl being scammed and losing everything- which really pi!ssed me off

3) I'm a Trophy hunter

4) Scammers p!ss me off

5) They're the only emails I get - apart from work emails, which you can put in the same bracket as scams emails.
