Suggests that this is not the Official Richard Dawkins Website since he says he does not have one.

Perhaps you would care to remove the claim from your site or ask Richard to update his homepage at Oxford University.

Oh, and while I'm on the case please inform the webmaster that many of the pages claiming to be W3C compliant are not.

I suppose false claims are par for the course around here.

It's not very arbitrary either. This is 'The Official Richard Dawkins Website' or it is not.

Based on the evidence provided by Richard Dawkins himself, and I quote from his homepage.

I am forced to reach the conclusion that this is in fact 'Not The Official Richard Dawkins Website'.

You might choose to ignore the evidence as presented and assume things. Getting all sophisticated over it does not add

any meaning to your words though. I believe you might use the phrase 'Try not to speak'.

As I say, perhaps the owners of this site should get in touch with Mr Dawkins and ask him to correct the blatent error

that exists on his homepage.

I suspect he's just forgotten about his Oxford Uni Homepage text.

such in his profile which, by the way seems to be lacking in any 'Richard Dawkins' type information.

Well...... I'm suggesting it is a Scam Website. You know, like those Scam Bank Websites you lot deal with.

I thought that maybe, with your wealth of experience, you might check it out and see if you thought it smelt. And then..... maybe contact someone who could do something about it.

Of course if you wish to be selective about what you sniff then I won't complain. After all it isn't really a proper 419 scam now is it?

Is this "Richard Dawkins" website soliciting for money/donations or some other business scheme, or is it being used by scammers to convince victims of their bona fides? If not, while it may be fake it's not really a scam? There's a lot of people out there who strongly disagree with Dr Dawkins and his ideas so perhaps the site was set up by one of his 'fans' just to cause aggro?

I believe it is attempting to solicit donations, look at the Foundation section from the home page, under the pretense of being a charity. Also it is claiming to be 'The Official Richard Dawkins Website' to convince people of their bonafides.

I don't see anything that really makes me think "scam" anywhere there. The site that claims he doesn't have an official site was last modified in late 2000 (enter 'javascript:alert(document.lastModified)' in the address bar while on that site) so it's probably just outdated information.

I actually think the guy is trying too hard to be inflammatory and strongly disagree with his viewpoints, but I'd say that site it legit.

Delete what account? If you don't think some of the responses are helpful then you could ignore them and wait to see if someone will respond with something more to your liking.

From a bank killing point of view, I don't see anything on that site that would indicate it needs to be targeted by us under the umbrella that it is involved in advance fee fraud.

It may well be a spoof site of this Dawkins character- if so, you could always contact somebody at the real Dawkins site and make them aware that this site is taking donations in his name.
