seems to me Bi Gal was a former member, one who left under bad circmunstances. Could someone be a little less cryptic about it please?

BiGal is indeed a former member here who left under bad circumstances. Said circumstances were of his own making....and then it came back under other assumed names and faced the same thing.

That's because it is a trolling nutjob.

When I first joined I saw references to banned members and posts that were obviously in-jokes poking fun at them- it's perfectly reasonable to ask questions.

What I did is search down these members' profiles and read their posts, trying to figure out what they had done that warranted such derision from the more senior members.

You are more than welcome to do the same- I would encourage it, in fact, and you can draw your own conclusions.

^^^ Sometimes it's not so easy to tell what happened by looking at their old posts. Often I'm left scratching my head because their last few posts seem quite innocuous -- I'm assuming that in many of these cases their offending posts have been removed, or that the behaviour involved PM nastiness, or the offense took place elsewhere.

I completely missed Bigal's tenure as an actual member here during my hiatus, but he's trolled here numerous times since. Trolls r teh sux0rs.

I looked up BiGal (aka Big Al, apparently), and the posts that came up were sometimes mildly obnoxious but it looks like whatever he was banned for either has been deleted or took place in PMs.

That said, I'm not going to beg for explanations - what's been said already gets the general idea across. Smile

He really doesn't deserve this much attention. Just a member who started as a know-it-all and never let up, but never realized most of many stupid mistakes he made. He probably left when he realized that people finally realized he didn't know as much as he thought and wouldn't give him the respect he richly deserved and earning it was too much trouble.

Being Banned here is difficult to do. Basically you have to threaten the stability or safety of the site in some large way. In my opinion anyway.

No, the site is not similar to 419Eater in Japan. The site is an informational site.

Yes, a member of 419eater has posted some trophy pictures there. It was the choice of the member.

For whatever reason, I only ever interact with these types during the 'normal' stage that precedes their self-implosion.

I'm never around for the self-destruct stage.

The consequence is that I read that Bigal or Hugh G. Rection or whatever is banned. I end up wondering how such a swell person got banned, whereas the rest of the forum sees the person as a raging lunatic.

At any rate, I'm sure that it was for a good reason. This place is pretty tolerant.
