Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Bandwidth expensive in Nigeria?
If it is, has anyone considered entering the Lads email address into all the different spam generating lotto contest ect? Some of them have a lot of big picture and could suck alot of bandwidth. I know how much spam annoyes me, could we share the pain?

You wouldn't be sucking the bandwidth from the lad, just filling up his e-mail box with spam that he will ignore.

What you can do is have the lad send big stuff to you.
When a lad sends me a 5kb picture "of herself" I always complain about it and demand a bigger picture.

We are scamfighters, not spammers.
I have to ask what the connection is between fighting scammers and the cost of bandwidth in Nigeria, which is just one country from which scammers operate.

I think the OP was inquiring if it would be effective to get scammers to waste their cafe minutes downloading huge files instead of scamming people.

I don't agree that it is an effective tool, the scammers will ignore emails with huge attachments from people they don't know anyway.

419sniper, there are more effective ways to waste the lads' time and generally harass them.
Read some of the threads around here, check out the stickies for ways to do things, and enjoy yourself at the lads' expense.

It's much more effective to "buy a camera" and send your lad all of the pictures "you are taking."

If the account becomes annoying to the lad, he will abandon it, and baits will be lost. It is better to not lose his trail.

I've sent lots of "photos" to lads, usually when we've exchanged several emails. pics of my area , pet goat, house, farm, tomatoes, etc etc oh and there will be one of a w U form included as my scanner isn't working. Shame I haven't got the focus right

Over time things that have been accepted were the lad vampire, which causes fake sites to be closed or slow but again that is used as a LAST resort, even I wouldnt start leeching bandwidth from a website unless it was confirmed fake and refused to be taken down.

Other tricks we have used with lads is fake downloads, where we tell the lad there is a download of some file he wants or needs or will help him scam at which point we direct him to a page that has either problems from the start or causes him to wait and wait, and if he closes the screen or minimizes it it pops up and says "Error download ended unexpectedly" this does waste lads time, but takes no bandwidth from anyone.

Other tricks include making the lad fill in online forms - incredibly long and ever increasingly funny ones.

But you will see all these have something in common, they require the lads time, if you junk his email baiters who might have worked for over a year might be wrecked, or the lad learns something new - thats the worst thing, because if we do something to a lad, there is a real possiblity the lad can and in most cases if he works it out WILL do it right back.

Becoming friends with a lad and asking him to go outside and take a picture of his town, this takes time etc.

Ive had one lad take pictures of local stones, to compare them to stones i have in my garden - totally pointless to do, but the lad was right interested in my long detailled descriptions wasted weeks of his time.

Not to knock the titles of elite baiter, master baiter, etc. . . but those are result of postcount. I don't usually look at post count, I prefer to look at the person's joined date to see how long they've been around. Wink

Plus, a couple of people's postcounts aren't accurate. . . always listen to Slayerfaith, her postcount won't move past 419. Very Happy

Considering that I've only been at this for 4 days, and already have 25 open bait, yes I am a deviant!! I've already asked the "Princess" if she....well, I won't repeat it here, you might be a Lady. The biggest think I've gained from this forum so far, is the ability to blow off a Ladds time eating request, make up some lame excuse, ask how much money I have to send, and just plow forward. A couple of times I thought i'd scared one off, but the are still E-mailing! Very Happy

If it won't, it doesn't matter. Just copy a huge .dll file, rename it as a jpeg and then send it to your lad. When he/she cannot open it, tell them it is their problem. It is always their fault.

I would recommend pacing yourself, otherwise you can get burnt out easily. But, if you can handle 25 baits, then have at it!

I always send a 3MB .dll file relabeled as "characternamepassport.jpeg". When they can't open it (often they say nothing) and tell me, I ask them if they are using windows vista. No? Aha! That's the problem!

As Jojobean says, its always the lads fault.
