After spending the last 2 1/2 hours setting fire to fireworks, the pyromaniac in me is satisfied for another year  We had family and friends round, ate hot dogs and watched as we blew up a whole load of gunpowder. This has to be one of my favourite "holidays" of the year, next to Christmas. |

Someone remind me why we celebrate a failed terrorist, who had his liver pulled out for his troubles.
Just got back from Weatherfield Councils public display. watched most of it through a viewfinder. Now I wish I hadn't stood where a lampost was in the way. suprised anything came out, camera settings were all a bit of a guess.

I believe you are celebrating because it was a failed attempt. So that the monarchy and parliament could live on. Basically stopping a coup attempt.

Ignoring the reasons behind this one, I think it makes more sense for a country to have its firework-based festival in the winter with early sunsets rather than, say, in the middle of summer. |
