Anyone recognise the site they blatantly ripped off, right down to leaving their name on the main page? Let me give you a clue. THIS SITE IS THE ONE THEY COPIED!!

Yahoo are hosting it, and the content is clearly copied/stolen, which would mean you could send an abuse notification to Yahoo concerning a violation of stolen copywrite text/images/material.

I think there is very little point in trying to sue them. I mean, if you were Barclays Bank, and you found out that some mugus were impersonating you with a fake website - would that make sense to you? It wouldn't, obviously, because the mugus will simply laugh about a letter coming from a lawyer telling them to stop right now what they are doing or else...

Why would that be different here? It is clear that this a website run by some genuine criminals, who prefer to stay anonymous, and a set up for fraud. You cannot sue someone if you do not know who is actually behind this.

The best way to deal with this here is to write to [email protected] - yahoo is cooperative and good at shutting down scammer websites quickly.

Furthermore, I find it quite possible (in fact, likely!) that domain registration / hosting was paid with a compromised credit card, and that the person you find in the whois is in fact someone who is not aware that he is the owner of such a domain... Contacting that person would also make sense, I think.

I agree with the above. Why treat this as any different than a fake bank site? Open season for killing I'd say. Someone gets a new flag in their siggy. I'd be happy to do the abuse if needed.
