Please don't ask your lad to do this as it is clearly very very very painful.

(um, when it comes to lads, that is)

Maybe it's becoming popular because it can be done in seconds, whereas a tattoo may take hours to do.

Wow, that site was pretty graphic. It's amazing the crap people will do to themselves just to call it "art". I'm surprised a technique like that isn't illegal due to the health dangers of opening the skin like that. You'd think you'd need a surgical license to do that.

I'm not a big fan of this.

You don't know your scammer "personally", so how would you know if the person in the picture is someone innocent paid to do this, or if it really is your scammer? sure, picture "proof" is possible, but then again it could be an innocent person posing for the picture (paid to do so).

I'm split half and half on this subject (due to the possible innocent 3rd party) =P

One of my best mates got a wicked scarification done several years ago... looks brilliant to this day - he also did a suspension. Bloody endomorphin junkie.

i think the scarification picture is just amazing how it turned out.ive not got
any negatives about branding as if you want it done,do your research and find a good reputable person to do it for you.
make sure you look after the wound.

i must be ahead of the crowd as i was branded a fool a long time ago

Nothing wrong with a bit of lad-branding. They missed the most important bit though - the brand should be doused in vinegar immediately after application to make sure it doesn't fade. Twisted Evil

I don't think it's a great idea. Yes we will see some great works of art. Then we will hear the horror stories that will accompany this sort of thing.
Maybe works of art should be left for time to decide the fate not here for a few short years and buried. Unless of course your body is skinned and turned into a lamp shade.

Melanoma is caused by sun damage to sensitive skin. Purposely damaging the skin in this way and then exposing it to the sun would increase your chances of skin cancer.

I've seen cancers removed that have totally and almost totally removed old tattoos. Of course no one believes the tattoo had anything to do with it Wink

As for the skin in pic7. it looks like it was cut out using a lino tool.

I think it is a fine idea. Unlikely, but that was probably said about tattoos at one time. Now we have a bunch of idiots walking around with Nerv or Roycropper tattoos or whatever.

As far as the third party thing. If someone is to the point of getting a lad to get tattooed, branded, etc. they probably know their lad. I am sure by that point, they will know what the lad looks like. I agree some precautions need to be taken with baits of these type, but I think it is a great way for the mugu to commemorate the time.

With the ITP deal.... even with a safari how do we know it is the lad that went? I mean if you are dealing with a higher up and send them to wherever for the payday, how do we know he did not hire some lower level dude to go?

If it is your lad and he had to borrow the $ to go, and does not repay since there is no payday at the end isn't that ITP?

I could go on....

I am not taking any position in any debate, just pointing out we have no way to really know.

Cheers for the offers Slightlyoutofit and PVJ, I have a lad who very much deserves it (sent out begging mails with graphic pics of a burn victim attatched...a tattoo just isnt enough), but whether or not he'll go for it is another matter. I'll try Smile

People used to use tats to cover scars, will people now use scarification to cover a tat? and then use a tat to cover a scarification?

As for lads, its by no means easy to get them to have a tattoo, branded sounds fun.
