I thought it was about time that I bought a domain name for my Scam Info Links website (see www icon below my sig), as I have always used a free domain name from SmartDots, and they now have that annoying toolbar at the top of the page that can't be turned off Mad

I plan to do loads of work on my site it this coming year as it's been very basic since I made it.

When I registered the domain, I got my customer ID, which was:

Yeah, someone else had posted before saying they got an McAfee alert when using the scam-info-links.int.tc url from SmartDots, not sure why, I have never had any problems with SmartDots, I use them for all my baiting site urls, as do many other baiters, it might be something to do with the advertising toolbar they now place on the page now, or a link in the toolbar.

Anyway, the new proper domain name is now up and running Very Happy

I just set up the domain and mail forwarding for it, it goes to my freeforums url which is now my front page until I get my website spruced up a bit in the new year.

The .info domain only cost me $3.30, the domain forwarding is $0.07 per year and mail forwarding is also $0.07, I took a bit of a chance, as the site I bought the domain from using my Egold, is only registered until March 2008, so they could end their service then I suppose, but for the price, it's worth the risk, I will probably transfer the domain name to Freehostia by then anyway, I'm going to buy another domain name with my last few dollars of Egold and use it for baiting purposes Twisted Evil

@ Luckey, if you come across any victims, please send them to the ScamWarners site.

My sites role is not so much aimed at warning victims, more about giving them links to police/government scam alerts and news stories to view, as well as other links and resources for victims etc.

Of course, I will give advice if anyone posts a question on the forum about something they think is dodgy, I get quite a few enquiries through the original .int.tc website where my email addy is posted, most enquiries come from people who have clicked my link on the CBN website, I have received numerous fake CBN website urls to kill that way, it's just another resource for anyone to use really.
