What a great program, Praise be to God. My Church, the Church of Christ and the Muddy Fish, has a long history of supporting such projects. We normally fund programs to teach the poor how to feed themselvs in a sustainable way, but feeding the soul with The Gospel is just as valid. Please forward a properly documented PDF of your proposal and costs and I can present it to our Rectal Comittee (retired pastors who exercise financial review for our quarterly disbursements). If they accept your proposal, they will reqire that you become a branch operation of our church in order to recieve funding. Ammounts range from $25,000 to $75,000. I apologize ahead of time if this is less than you need, but we fund many valuable projects around the third world.

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.

Brother, I am great full to you for your nice and
encouraging response. Brother, before I send you any
document, I need some guidance from you. I have never
submitted any such application to anyone, before.
Therefore I would like to be very clear. I am telling
you my position, so that you can give me a sincere
advise. I am serving in three different dimensions.
1) Audio Bible 2)Pastor ship 3) Education Sector.

I have already told you about audio Bible project.
This project requires recording of whole Bible in
audio form, production of audio CDs and cassettes and
distribution. I think Bible has less or than 3000
chapters. Now to hire a studio, technician and a
narrator. After producing audio files, we need to
produce its CDs and cassettes. To distribute them, we
need to contact the pastors, throughout Pakistan.
Pakistan is a vast country. It consists of plains,
hilly areas and deserts. It has four provinces. Only
one province is a bit comparatively safe place for
Christians. In other parts of country it is a
difficult and dangerous work to search and reach
Christian groups. Secondly we would need some vehicle,
driver, office staff, their salaries, office expanses,
vehicle maintenance, e.t.c. so is it possible that
your organization may support us on regular basis.

Pastor Ship

Brother there are four provinces in Pakistan. Most of
the Christians live in the province of Punjab. In
Punjab there are many cities and villages. I live in
the city of Lahore. It is the provisional capital so
most of the ministries have their offices here. But
still there are many places where most of the people
don’t want to work. The reason is that most of the
villages are still lacking in basic human needs, like
hospitals, good schools, electricity, water and
sanitation problems, no telephone networks and so on.
There are many pastors who don’t want to work in
remote areas because they and their offspring’s would
be lacking of basic human needs. I have decided to
plant churches in those areas where there is no
pastoral work before. Right now I have spotted two
such areas. Both of these areas are far away from each
other and they are in opposite direction from each
other. About one area I have heard the news that
people are converting from Christians to Muslims,
because they don’t have any pastor to take care of
them. Even their funerals and marriage ceremonies are
performed by Muslims, since years. So they decided its
better to be a Muslim than to be a Christian. Now as I
am going to start ministerial work in these areas, I
need some financial and moral support. At least I need
a vehicle and some monthly financial support.

I have been serving God since I was 16 years old. Now
I am about 36 years old. In these 20 years of
ministry, I never asked for any support from anyone,
instead I had been helping and supporting different
pastors. When I started ministry, I was young and
single. Now I am married and I have two kids. To feed
them, I am working as a Math’s teacher in a school. I
also have to spear quite some time to prepare my
lessons before delivering them. Because of this job, I
am unable to do pastoral work with full potential. So
if I can affiliate with you, and your organization can
support me monthly, I can be release to ministerial
work.

I have shared my heart with you. So that I can get a
true advise from you about submitting my project.
Kindly guide me that
How should I present my project.?
Should I present both the projects (that is (1)Audio
Bible and (2) Pastoral work) or should I present only
one of them.
If I should present only one project, then which
project should I present.

Kindly guide me about PDF file also because this is
the very first time I am presenting a project to some
big organization. Otherwise in previous years, I never
asked for any help from anyone.

You are truely an ambitious soldier for God. I believe you should present the whole package. Once you gather your costs and determine the full scope of your project, please write a concept paper. Here is a good guideline to accomplishing this: http://www.usfca.edu/osp/pdf/Writing_Concept_Paper.pdf

Please follow these simple steps, but be through. If you can complete these by Thursday of next week, I can submit them to the Rectal Comittee and consider funding. You will also need to submit a special photo of yourself along with the application. When you are ready, I will tell you how to do this.

I an truely excited about your project and look forward to recieving your documentation. I estimate you will be needing about $75,000 up front, then perhaps $10,000 a month after that. We are used to funding programs such as this.

Dearest Brother,

If you do not have .pdf capabilities, please just send the file as a
PLAIN TEXT FILE (.txt). Do not enable RTF or use any special
formatting. You may use NOTEPAD if you like to keep the file as
simple as possible. We have had trouble with viruses in the past
coming in Word documents. I had hoped to have your photo with a sign
saying "Hello Friends" for today's services, but I guess we will have
to wait.

Once I get your proposal and budget, I will submit it to the Rectal
Comitte. IF they approve, then I will let you know about the
induction ceremony. There is no need to waste time on that now. I
warn you ahead of time that it will involve a few photographs of
yourself. So if you do not have a camera, please get one now.

Brother, we do not keep a website. The Rectal Comitte is very "old
school" in matters of technology and they consider advertising or
showing off to be un-virtuous. I have brought up the point many times
with them, but though they are loving servents of Christ, they can be
a bunch of grumpy old men at times. Besides, we do not want to draw
too much attention to our work, we prefer to have God direct those who
are worthy to us in in other ways. You are a prime example.

During this week I was very much busy in giving a
shape to the project. As it is the very first project
writing in my life, so I was a bit confused and
worried about this. During this week I took very
little sleep just two or three hours per day or there
are times when I didn’t slept throughout the night.
That is why I was not able to check my email box.
Yesterday morning when I checked my email box, I found
your email.

I felt very ashamed because I was not able to send you
any photo. I am really very sorry that you had to wait
for them. I requested a friend who has camera in his
cell phone for some photos and I am sending them to
you now. Please present the words of my apology to
your congregation too.

Although we are thousands of miles away from you but
still I can feel the warmness of your and your
people’s love. I feel it like a hot air balloon which
is lifting me up in the presence of God. Please tell

Description or overview :-

Audio Bible in Urdu is such a project on which very little work had been done in past.
Pakistan is the 6th most populous country in the world. Its area is 880,940 square
Kilometer and its population is about 162 million. According to government statistical
departments, Christians are 1.6% of the total population but according to different non
government organizations (NGOs) Christian population is from 2% to 5%. It means
according to government Christian population is 2.6 million and according to NGOs,
there are3.24 million to 8.1 million Christians. Out of this much big number of Christian
population, most of the people are illiterate. Mostly Christians are working as sweepers
or they are working on low grade jobs. Therefore most of the Christian people are very
poor and they don’t have enough money for proper schooling of their kids.

For Uneducated Persons :-

From the above mentioned facts it is quite clear that many of the Christian families can
not read the Word of God at their homes because they are illiterate. So audio Bible
would be a great gift for my nation.

For Educated Persons :-

Audio Bible would be a blessing for educated persons also. They can hear and grow in
the Word of God. Because faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God.

For Blinds :-

Audio Bible is a big need of Christian blind persons. There are more than 25000
Christian who are blind in Pakistan. They don’t have Bible in Brail (Language for
blinds). So in this modern world, audio Bible, could be the only way for them to
grow in God.

Phases Of Recording :-

We wish to record the whole Bible stepwise. As a first step, we want to record from
Genesis to Deuteronomy. As a second step we wish to record from Joshua to Esther.
Then Job to Lamentations in next phase, we will move record prophetic. After this, we
would like to record new Testament.

Background Or Statement of Problem :-

Deuteronomy 6:6,7 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine
heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when
thou sitest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down
and when thou risest up.

From the above verses it is quite clear that Lord God want us to listen the Word of God
as much as we can and we should also talk about the Word of God with our children.
The problem is, in these days people are very much busy with their jobs and regular
schedule. They don’t have time to read and discuss the Word of God with their children.
Because of this reason our young generation is loosing their interest in Christianity. Our
young generation is not rooted properly in the Word of God. We elders are their roots,
when we (roots) are weak, certainly our generation (fruit) will be weak too.

According to an estimation, in last 20 years, interest in children and parents,
to go to church , is dropped to one tenth. If such a trend will remain continue, we will soon
loose our young generation.

The solution of above mentioned problems is that , we should comer back to
the Word of God. But How?

We know that people feel it like a burden to spear time for the Word of God.
Therefore, if we can provide them the audio Bible, then they can listen it while driving on
the road, when they are waiting for their turn in a queue, when they are jogging or when
they are out with pets, while they are cooking food, painting, building houses, when they
are free at their homes or going for a journey somewhere.

Audio Bible would be recorded in the cassettes, and on CDs in MP3 format.
MP3 format of audio Bible can be stored in cell phones or in small devices like Ipod and
MP3 players. So people can have a portable along with them always. Secondly it would
be available on internet, free of cost. So people who can understand Urdu in the whole
world, can access and be benefited by it.

If people can listen the audio Bible for 20 minutes daily, they would be able
to finish the whole Bible in less than a year.

Kind of Audio Bible :-

It is a common observation throughout the world, people enjoy listening music,
more than the news. The reason is, that the music has its ups and downs with lyrics.
So it gives a pleasing effect to our ears. News casters speaks in same tempo and people
after listening them for minutes, feel bored. Bible is not a small book which can be finished
in 15 or 20 minutes. It is a long book so in my opinion, Bible should be in dramatized form
with lithe background music.

Suitability For The Job :-

I am serving the Lord since I was 16 years old. If I look back into my life and
divide it into different phases, it could be as under.

Childhood to 15 years Sunday School student.
16 to 19 years of age Sunday School teacher.
20 to 27 years of age Sunday School drama director.
& youth pastor.
29 to 32 years of age Seminary teacher (teaching fundamentals of
faith, church history and Christology)
26 to 36 years of age Sunday School drama director.
& Bible teacher at Christ Revival Church.

As you can see that Sunday School and Drama had been an important part of my life,
since my childhood. So I know that how and when to use sound effects. How and when
to change expressions during narration. So the vast experience, God has given me, I
would like to use it in the production of audio dramatize Urdu Bible.

Goals and Objectives :-

Goals:-

1) Blind people may have access to the Word of God.
2) Illiterate and uneducated people can listen the word of God.
3) In villages and remote areas where there is no pastor and people are like sheep
without any guardian, may hear the word of God.
4) Normal people may have a Bible on CDs or cassettes in their cars, homes and
cell phones so that they may hear the Word of God, anytime, anywhere they are.

Objectives :-

1) people may raise their offspring’s in the light of the Word of God.
2) We may have revival in the land.
3) As in Pakistani schools, Christians are forced to learn Islamiyat (Islamic studies),
even from the very first grade, they would have the opportunity to grow in the
light of the Word of God.

can be blessed by a message, then my community and my nation can also be blessed
abundantly, if they hear the pure Word of God (Bible). First, God let me taste the
goodness and sweetness of His Word, Now I wish that my whole nation may taste His

help the people in number of ways. A few of them are as under,

1) It can help illiterate and uneducated people
2) People who don’t have time to read the Bible, can listen it easily
3) There are about 25000 Christian blind people in Pakistan most of them

would be it be like a treasure for them.

than to be a Christian. The condition in other areas is not much better too. There are some so
called Christian colonies, which are in fact a bad name to our nation. There are many gangsters
in these areas. They supply every kind of drug and alcohol. Mostly there are uneducated people,
who on one side call upon the name of Jesus and on other side they worship idols. To work
there is very difficult. If they become angry, they can go up to any extent. So it is need of this hour
that we may start God's work in these areas seriously.

The domain of worldgospelmissions.net is only registered for one year, and was only registered on August 11th, so that's a black mark against him, but he does seem willing to do a lot of detailed work for you.

Can we have some more headers please? The one you provided just lists Yahoo and Google.

The news of the bombing of Benizir Bhutto's procession has been a major issue in our international news. The Rectal Comittee is asking how the violence and the elections coming up will affect your project. We would like a brief analysis of how you and your team view the effect the political situation there on your plans, time table, and safety of Christian persons. I would ask that you get your team together and just ask that question and generate a consensus and present a single analysis. No more than a page or two. So far the Rectal Comittee seems to be impressed though, nothing more to add.

Dear brother Chukey,

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ,

Brother I am very much pleased that you are aware of
the condition of Christians here in Pakistan..
Pakistan is called �Fort of Islam�. So certainly
people here are very enthusiastic about there religion
and they can till any extent if they feel that there
is anything going on against there religion. The place
where I live is surrounded by Muslims. Most of them
are uneducated and they are like some radical group.
Our own house is being used as church in previous
years. So we are like a prime target for them. Often
we had been facing many difficulties. Right now I am
living with my parents. I want to change my residence
and I want to go in some safer area but I don�t have
the finances to do this. It may cost more than US$
170,000 to make an office and residence in such a
area.

Regarding unrest in the country and our project, I
talked to my team members and some other persons who
are political figures themselves. We all came to same
point that this violence and unrest has political
reasons behind it. It has nothing to do with religion.
Audio Bible project will target only Christians in
Pakistan. We are not going to Muslims. So there is no
need to worry about. Secondly we do have recording
studios in Christian areas. We also have Christian
publishers and printers too. So we can accomplish the
whole project even without contacting to Muslims the
only point where we have to contact Muslims is , when
we will buy cassettes and CDs. But it is not a big
task. We can do this without telling that for which
purpose we are buying them.

There are three main political figures in Pakistan.
These are Mr. Pervaiz Musharf, Madam Benazir and Mr.
Nawaz Sharif.. It is for sure that Mr. Musharf will be
our next president. Now out of Benazir and Nawaz
Sharif, the political situation says that Benazir will
be our next prime minister and Nawaz Sharif will sit
on opposition benches. The remaining issue is Taliban.
I will plainly say that they are not under any
control. Government is trying at its level best but we
do not see any significant change in the scene. It
seems they are becoming more and more powerful day by
day. I wish that we nay have our church branches in
their areas. But it is very danderous and difficult to
start and run a church there. Because they don�t
acknowledge any law or government. They themselves are
lawmakers.

At the end I would say that whatever the political
situation will be, Christians cant leave Pakistan.
They have to live here in all circumstances and Bible
will remain their need in all the ages.

Please pay my regards to rectal committee and to your
church. Tell your church that I am very much impressed
by their love and care they have for me and for
Pakistani Christians. Brother, I have never met your
church people but I have seen them through you. I am
sure as you are a loving and caring Christian, they
are following your example too.

The communication and content looks like it might actually be legit. The costs don't seem to be inflated as one might expect of a scammer. OK, I'm beginning to feel really guilty Embarassed

. I have sent a "mis-directed" reply to a 419 scam request for western union funds to this guy from another account of mine at the advice of "senior staff". If he replies that i have the wrong address or ignores it says one thing, or if he creates an address and replies to recieve the WU funds, it says another. Meanwhile, if I determine he is legit, I have to think of a kind way of letting him down without trashing his dreams......

Blessed Anwer,
I am not sure of the banking laws in your country. I would visit an accountant or a reputible bank and ask him what the rules are for not-for-profit organizations. You may have to set yourself up as a not-for-profit, at least that is what you would have to do here in the USA. The bank account would then be in the name of your not-for-profit organization. You might call yourselvs "Audio Blessings, Inc." or something like that. Again, seek advice of a good accountant.

One reason why you may not be recieving much attention from the public to your messages is that there are many scammers out there, mainly from Africa, using the good name of God, Church, Charity, Lotteries, and general stories of tragedy or riches to get money from unsuspecing persons. Anybody can be anybody on the internet and trust is a dangerous thing adn it is "spammed" all over the place. Look up "419 scam" in google or wikipedia.

As you know, The Lord will test you in your endevours to see if you are serious about your dreams. In the face of success, do not give up your dilligence. In the face of dissapointment, do not give up your enthusiasm.

Thank you very much for the quick response of my last
email. In your last email, you told me that I should
fax you about the details of the funds, I had been
receiving. Is it still needed after my last email. And
if it is needed then may I send the same email by fax.
Secondly please give me the fax number, if it is
needed. And the other thing is do you think some
change should be done in that fax or my last email
contents are enough for the rectal committee.

Brother, I send you two projects. One was for audio
bible and second for church plantation. Is rectal
committee considering both the projects or any one of
them?

Brother you told me about robes and two fish. Do you
need these things in photographs? If I have to wear
the robe, can you send me any photo of any man wearing
such a rope so that I may place an order for such a
robe. Do you think I need to come to USA for any
ceremony or any representative will come from your
side. Because if I have to come to you then I need to
arrange money as I just have about US$ 40 in my bank
account.

You asked about any sponsor in USA. We don’t have any
sponsor there but we do know an organization who
helped our Sunday school by sending some stationery
and Sunday school material. A pastor named Rev. Moses
from this organization visited our church two or three
times. He and his secretary, sister Debby knows us
very well. If you or rectal committee want, I can give
you their address.

Brother I want to clear one more thing about the
emails we had been sending in previous 6 or 7 years.
In first 3 or 4 years Nadia (my wife) had been using
this email address. Then after meeting the needs of
our Sunday school. We focused for about three years to
raise the standard of our church choir and Mr. Amoon
Shazad,(my brother in law) being choir leader, had
been using this email. Now I am using the same
address. But in our whole record, we never ever
cheated any one. As you have found the address of
several organizations in last two years, you may
contact anyone of them and confirm the truth in our
communication with you.

So did you get a response to your WU ASEM?
I have to say, I see what you mean about it sounding legit. It can be very hard to determine sometimes, so there's no need to feel guilty about baiting him by accident. You haven't caused him particular trouble or financial harm in this bait, so if he is legit, there's nothing to worry about. Like you said, you can just lose interest in the investment, while being supportive towards him.

Whether he's legit or not, my advice is: If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it!

Thanks for the feedback. There was no reaponse to the WU ASEM, though he wrote to Chuckey in the mean time. After Halloween, I will let him go as gracefully as possible. I'll just find myself a real Lad to play with. My personal e-mail gets about 20 a day so there is no shortage.

tough one to read, markmark. but I really admire your diligence in trying to get it right. some scammers really have finesse and it may be that this guy has got it down. My gut tells me different - excellent bait attempt either way.

The only thing I'd do differently (on the basis that you're working with a real lad) is that when he was asking you about PDF software, I'd have told HIM to find out if there was conversion software. If you need a PDF, you need a PDF, not a word document, not plain text. It's up to him to figure out how to come up with the goods, not up to you to help him along Wink

Here's a thought on how to test it. I've noticed that a lot of these religious themed scammers talk a lot about Christianity in their scam mails, but are willing to do all sorts of things that someone who actually believes in the religion would balk at when there's a payoff in view.

Perhaps if you come up with a request to which the only objection could be blasphemy (as opposed to excessive effort or exposure) or something similar, you could be sure.

If you get an offended refusal, there's a decent chance that the person is as legit as any missionary is. If they go along with it, you've got a genuine fraud star.

That's a GREAT idea Heloise. In fact it could be adopted almost as a matter of course in all religious deals with the lads. My idea would be to have the lad hold up the obligatory cardboard sign with a picture of an upside-down Cross (short side i.e. normally upper side of the cross, on the bottom) and wording such as "Christ is dead" written across the top in large letters.

As a Christian person I would be offended by this and I'm totally sure that genuine practicing missionaries and the like would be very much so. Yet the play on words "Christ is dead" would merely emphasize the basis of Christianity to a non-Christian.

Please note that I have no desire to offend other Christians here...I am merely commenting how we could try to help unfortunate potential victims by hi-lighting scammers as Heloise suggests, so that we baiters can target them without fearing we are targeting genuine, good people. As a matter of note, coming from Nigeria as so many of the scammers do, one wonders how many of them adhere to a religion other than Christianity, and would be only too happy to blaspheme against that religion.
