I have written letters to London, and California. I have sent many e mails to my "new" family, in CA. too. (Most of my family has passed away). I never get any response. As a child, I was taught this was a very rude thing to do, ignore a letter from someone. I guess times have changed, and I have learned my lesson. They do not even return phone calls. So, F em'. Thanks to all of you who take a few minutes to return my messages[/end rant] |

They are the ones who make an effort to stay in touch.
Some just aren't regular correspondents anyway and others just wait a while, until there's a bit more to say  |

I remember getting letters from my grandmother as a child. She addressed them "Master pastor frank" (insert real name there) in cursive. I always remembered that, along with a few dimes that she taped inside the letter.
Good letter writing is a thing of the past. It is the sad passing of an era. |

@ Master pastor frank My grandma used to do something similar. Must have been the generation. She canned jam and jelly, baked bread and always had fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast for us. I miss her.
Manners appear to be gone. Such a loss. I don't know if they will ever come back.
@ Master JT, friends are people who are there with you through it all. Family just shares DNA, and CAN be the ones who are the least there for you.

I like a letter and I still write them. With a fountain pen to boot. In the future archives will look very different indeed. |
