Ghost Hunters and TAPS will be there next week I am sure, to do their "scientific" investigation.

Ghost Hunters makes a great drinking game, whenever they talk about psuedoscience and EVP take a drink/shot. Makes you laugh even more at them.

Clearly resonance. The frame is picking up a vibration and the middle swing is just the right length to hit a subharmonic of it. There does appear to be some industry around there, or it could be a subsonic whistle from the wind.

Thud ...hate to disagree, but it does not look like ressonance to me or even subsonic wistle.

For something like that to happen some other phisical effects would have to show on the frame as well, or the other 2 swings.

Take the subsonic wistle, you would have to have different ares of vibration on the all frame and the base should show it was receiving vibration

it's either a very good hoax or ...call the ghost busters.

Spooky, but I think any explanation seems more probable than swings being moved by something left over from dead people. I don't know if anyone has worked out how many people have lived and died before we got here, but if their ghosts exist, the planet should be going mental by now.

Hmm, we didn't see underneath it did we? A small battery powered motor and an eccentric weight maybe?

100 billion is a lot of ghosts. Funny I never see any, even on WW1 battlefields, or at the Colleseum....

That happened to my brother, too. He died for several minutes in a motorcycle accident. I was quick to point out that his wedding vows were only "Til death do you part"

hang gliding accident...broke a few bones Very Happy

and my pride, fell from 90 feet high in a Microburst, but the all 19 minutes were the most amazing experience of my life

We used to have a member here who claimed to honestly believe in spirits and hauted houses, etc. He defended every report of the presence of ghosts.

He actually got very upset when people called 'bull' and said his feelings were hurt.

I never figured out if he was really incredibly stupid or just baiting us. Wink

I know a few people who believe in them. And have been on the receiving end of poltergeist activity that to this day I can't explain. I try to keep an open mind on it. But anything in the Sun I have to discount on the spot! Twisted Evil

well i hapen to believe...i mean i had to be somewhere during those 19 minutes, and i do remember and saw ecerything that hapened to me Wink

but believing in life afer death is an all together different matter from "ghost" storys or even paranormal phenomena.
i don't believe in MOST of them...there are the odd ones tho that leave you with just that margin that defies rationality.

Difficult subject anyway, we leave in a tridimensional world that does not give us the "tools" to properly understand or make sense of imaterial matters, that religion claims to understand and in fact just distorts even more...

I had surgery a few years ago, and I distinctly remember coming out of my body and floating up by the ceiling and watching the surgery. Admittedly, it's possible that my brain was hearing the conversations in the room and creating the visual part of it as a sort of dream. But I remember it nonetheless.

I think I remember the member you are talking about. He had one of those ghost finding machines and everything. I always though he was being sincere. I mean not baiting us.

I am surprised how many people believe in ghosts (it�s okay to believe in me though). And not just an afterlife but ghost moving things around a home just to jack with the owner. To each his own I guess.

About 16 years ago they dug up an old gas station to put up a condominium complex. Low and behold there was an old Indian burial ground there.

It was decided that it would be okay to build as long as a dwelling wasn�t erected over the chief�s grave.

Before anything could be done an elder had to do a dance and such to tell the spirits to rest. Only it couldn�t be done until the next morning so another officer and I pulled guard duty (so people would come and steal bones). Anyway, we were guaranteed we would see spirits, probably dancing. I sat there all night and didn�t see a thing except a bunch of old bones.
