Making a Map of the World according to the Lads

The current thread on Lad geography had me thinking that we should make a map of the world that reflects what Lads tell us - though making a map that puts all of England, and New Jersey, inside London would be a bit of a challenge.

Anyone up for making the map if we provide the Lad coordinates?

Nice idea, maybe get lads to draw freehand maps of their region and locate various points of interest. Could come in handy when organising safaris.

I guess that map would be a shame compared to the Renaissance mappae mundi or even the world�s very first one, that of Hekataios of Milet, which did not know about Europe other than the Eastern part of the Mediterranean. Lad geography is more immature than the earliest examples, though they do travel a lot more.

It may be the same map I work off.
Heck I'm here I have no intention to be there, so who cares what it looks like in a text book.
If I travel I care a lot. Then I get a map.
It kinds of seems a bit silly taking the piss out of a lad for not knowing USA geography when we constantly ask each other for help understanding Africa.

I was chatting online with someone from Florida in a non-baiting context, and mentioned Edinburgh. His response? "I have no idea what Edinburgh is." Not "where", but more basic "what". I was stunned.

I have thought of also including descriptions of places compiled from lad letters. That way whenever you have a lad going there on safari you can regurgitate the description for him.

The difference is ... we aren't trying to pretend that we do know, when it is clear that we don't. And when we *are* (i.e. when we're baiting), we do some *research* instead of just tossing out the first names of locations that come to mind (or that we stole from other vic... er... lad's emails) Laughing

Actually, guys, I meant a sort of satirical map based on Lad howlers such as the aforementioned "NEW JERSSEY [sic] LONDON UNITED KINGDOM".
