windows is full of wonderfull tricks and bugs

try these

MAGIC #1
An Indian discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the Computer which can be named as "CON". This is something pretty Cool...and Unbelievable. ... At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn't answer why this happened !TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE " CON " FOLDER

MAGIC #2For those of you using Windows, do the following:1.) Open an empty notepad file2.) Type "Bush hid the facts" (without the quotes)
3 .) Save it as whatever you want.4.) Close it, and re-open it.

MAGIC #3Open Microsoft Word and type =rand (200, 99)And then press ENTER Then see the magic...

#1 and #3 work for me. #2 does nothing. I just get the same file back. I am in Vista of that makes a difference.

#3 looks like it displays the contents of a help file. I'd post it, but it is like pages and pages long.

I tried "Bush hid the facts" in Windows ME and got the same text back.

What is "supposed" to show up?

Hmmm, if you try and save a file as con.anything, then it says "this file already exists, do you want to replace it?". Do you think saying yes would totally kill my PC?

Nothing will happen, you won't be allowed to do it.

It's not really magical or mysterious. CON, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3,COM1 to COM9 and LPT1 to LPT9.... are reserved system names. They won't work either.

CON is the "console" device in Windows/DOS. It stops you creating a file called CON because that word is reserved.

Try opening a MS-DOS prompt (Start => Run => "cmd" then ENTER).

If you type in "dir" and press ENTER, you get a listing of your current directory.

If you type in "dir > a.txt" and press enter, you won't see a listing appear but you'll create a text file called "a.txt" that contains the directory listing. The ">" just redirects the output of the "dir" command into the file you specify.

But if you type in "dir > con" then the directory listing is displayed in the MS-DOS window (just like plain "dir") because "con" is, for that process, pointing to the window you have open. That window is the "console" for that process.
Instead of directing all the output of the "dir" command to a file, it dumps all the output to whatever "con" is.

"aux" is another reserved word in Windows/DOS, and behaves like "con" in that you can't create a folder called "aux".

I have that ASCII animation. I also have The Twilight Zone title sequence done the same way. Very impressive, but fiddly to view without a telenet server like that or similar.
