Well it was a good tournament... now predictability sets in. The only real team left just has to blow and they've won
Credit to the boks... savour it guys.

Nice to see the All Blacks doing their bit for global warming by dropping off the Aussies on the way home. |

Don't EVER think about returning to NZ after saying that Red!
Argh I just can't believe that England managed to win again. How can a team that played like a bunch of 7 year olds (and that's harsh on 7 year olds) against South Africa, USA and Tonga (for the first half of that match) now end up in the Rugby World Cup final???
I'm sorry if I seem anti-England. I would seriously have no problem supporting them (at least against Australia!) if they played more interesting and attacking rugby. The fact that they can win a quarter final and a semi-final while only scoring one try in both matches together (and a pretty soft try at that) is, in my opinion a bit of an indictment on the game of rugby. (I exclude Jason Robinson from everything I say about England as he's awesome by the way!)
Go South Africa! |

Its already been a phenomenal effort from England to reach the final, considering how poor they have been for the past three years really.
Eight defeats out of nine wasn't it..?
It will be a much tighter match than in the group stages but I just don't see that England can change up an extra gear to beat a team as good as SA.
SA would be worthy winners of the tournament, and although England will be gutted to lose a World Cup Final, really they must reflect and look back with pride at how much they have achieved on very limited resourses. |

^^ 5th v 6th
I think we'd manage to beat Scotland and Fiji.
@ Red, it's not that I particularly like South Africa, but (as I've said a million times before) England's style of rugby is killing the game, so I could never bring myself to supporting them. |

Well done England and South Africa, *choking*
I miss the running style of Rugby, this pick and go, try to barge through when all you gain is a metre, or less, or in fact go backwards 2 metres is slowing the game down, and who really wants to see 20 grown men having a grope on a field in front of 30,000 spectators.
Well, obviously the 30,000 people there, but it's not my idea of a flowing game
Australian Rules and Hurling, well, that's different!!
England by a drop goal next week |

i really think we (england) will be very lucky to win.
the way the boks have played throughout the whole RWC,its theirs.
but saying that my heart will be in my mouth all night and hopefully
we can pull the win off.
brain ashton did say at the begining of the tournament
'we will shock the world'
the team has already done this but c'mon let lift the cup.

The Rugby Wold Cup final is very much like making love to a beautiful woman...you get Johnny Wilkinson to give them a good kicking to start with, then get up and under it and just hope your opponent doesn't trample on your balls in the ensuing maul. |

Whats the difference between the Wallabies, the All Blacks and half a Viagra pill?
Answer: At least with half a Viagra pill, you can still get a semi.
-----------------
Little Bruce was in his junior school class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up:
Fireman, policeman, salesman, politician, etc.
However, little Bruce was being uncharacteristically quiet, and so the teacher asked him about his father. Reluctantly he replied, My Dads an exotic dancer in a gay club, and takes off all his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes, if the offers really good, hell go out with a man, rent a cheap room and let him shag him.
The teacher hurriedly set the other children to work on some colouring and then took Little Bruce aside to ask him, Is that really true about your father?
No, said Bruce, My father plays rugby for Australia; I was just too embarrassed to say.
-------------
Police found an unconscious man in a seedy back alley.
He was dressed head to toe in womens underwear, with a bright pink wig and full makeup.
Prior to having him photographed, and to avoid embarrassment for his family, police removed his All Blacks scarf.
---------------
Q: Whats the difference between the Wallabies, the All Blacks and a tea bag?
A: A tea bag stays in the cup longer.
---------------
On Saturday, France met England at Stade de France. On Sunday South Africa met Argentina at Stade de France. On Monday, New Zealand meet Australia at the airport
--------------------------
Whats the difference between an arsonist and the All Blacks?
An arsonist doesnt waste five matches. |

@ Josh - their style is killing rugby?
Hate to be the one to break it to you mate but that's how they've ALWAYS played rugby... and they invented the sport. I think two successive finals shows that they've earned the right to play any style they wish. The challenge is for the free running sides to belt the living crap out of them for being so poncy... and I imagine that is exactly what SA will do.
If SA win I will never hear the end of it... I need england to win... it's lose/lose for me (expatriate friends and family from both countries are swarming like hungry sharks ready to sink their teeth in my already embarrassed kiwi hide)... so the question is: do i want to lose small or lose big?
Barracking for england will at least let me save some face!
Maybe the french will pull a joberg chefs trick on the boks and food poison them before the match... i'm not saying i want it to happen... but i won't cry about it!
Btw: before anyone gets too excited and jumps down my throat, i'm just kidding. I really hope the best side left in the cup wins
mod edit:
Go South Africa! |

Apparently there's quite a strong movement amongst the NZ public to retain Graham Henry... the theory being that firing previous coaches after they didn't succeed at a World Cup hasn't worked. |
