Grr. Why don't people do a spyware check every week? If every computer user just ran AdAware and SpyBot on a regular basis, botnets of the size needed to do this kind of thing simply would not exist.

The aa419.org forum is back online. Finally. Our fake sites database is still read-only (hopefully that will change soon - don't know when though).

Almost normal business can resume.

The DDoS attack is still ongoing. We found a new temporary home at the server of castlecops - there is no way we would be able to keep aa419 online under the ongoing DDoS attack with our present set up. So for the moment we will be house guests on their server. We are very thankful for this.

Edit: Outages can happen anytime, and it is better to expect them. If you have problems to visit the forum and think it might be because for example our protection system thinks you are a bot because you loaded the page often and/or quickly - please PM me.

This is important and needs to be repeated. At the moment it is not clear at all if aa419 will ever put these back up again.

One of the reasons for this is that things have changed considerably from the time when we started to attack criminal websites with bandwidth tools. Back then, we did not have any good contacts to hosting companies and domain registrars - this is different now.

For every day business of getting fake sites closed bandwidth tools hadn't played an important role for quite some time already - writing good letters to the right people has become so much more efficient. That's the way 99.9 % of all fakers are killed anyway these days.

I would like a bank-killing mentor as welll.
I've read a lot of the posts, and I have a handy reference to OC's bank-killing tips, so I'm feeling fairly confident at the moment, but I'm also leery of writing an abuse report for what could be a legit site.
That would be a disservice to the site owner(s), and a waste of time for the people doing the investigation.

I can get them both okay.

It could be that for some reason your ip is in a range blocked by them so, you may need to contact them by other means to check whether or not that's the case.
