It's hard to believe but it is 1 year since Steve Irwin died.
Like with Diana, it is easy to remember what you were doing when you first heard the news.
Both times I was on the computer. 
November 15th is the official Steve Irwin Day. |

Wow that came up fast.
At least the guy died doing what he loved, not that many people can say such a thing. Felt sorry for his family though. |

When Diana died I was watching 'The Waltons' on channel 4. I didn't believe it when my mom rang to tell me coz I thought 'Surely they'd interupt 'The Waltons' to tell such news?
With Steve Irwin I was driving around the beautiful coastline of NZ. My daughter was chatting away and I heard a faint news item that caught my attention. My daughter was one of his biggest fans and was devastated 
Gosh. One year ago. How time flies when you start the downhill slope to old age. |

Saturday is one year since Peter Brock died too.
Sad week for Australia back then.
Brocky got me hooked on motor racing way back. He was a legend. |

I was channel surfing this weekend and happened to come across his daughter Bindy's show. She's got his passion and spirit and will become a national treasure just like her father.
Such a tragic loss at such a tender age, but then again, like my gran always said, "He calls them to him because heaven is empty without their essence". |
