Sadly Jane Tomlinson CBE has lost her long fight against breast cancer at the age of 43. She raised over �1.75m (US$3.5m) for cancer charities in the UK in a series of challenging events, despite being seriously ill.

She will be sadly missed, and lesser people have been knighted or made dames for far lesser achievements.

Yeah, brave lady. Her children should be proud. It was only a year-or-so ago folk were saying she was "at it" and didn't have cancer at all. I hope they all feel suitably guilty now.

Cancer survivor myself - diagnosed in 1988.
