What about rental? How much per day does the policy pay for rental of a bike if yours is stolen/in a wreck?

What about med pay, don't forget the med pay!

Of course you need a quote that breaks all of this down so you can compare to other insurance companies.

$400 application fee? Preposterous. They haven't even sent you a detailed quotation yet! This will never do... have you asked to speak to this mugu's manager? I'm sure the manager will provide the explanation you so justly ask for. Something in the vein of "THIS IS MANAGER OK, GO AHEAD AND PAY THE FEE NOW PAY BY WESTERN ONION MONEY TRANSFER, FEE IS $400 US DOLLAR. THIS IS REAL INSURNCE COMPANY NOT HOAX OK YOU GO PAY THE FEE NOW LET ME KNOW." may not be considered a detailed explanation, but it'll buy you some more time.

Note: It takes all the restraint I have not to launch into a bunch of insurance jokes right now, but I'll let the lad do all the ranting. PM me if anybody needs good insurance jokes!

After several weeks of back and forth, I finally got the insurance company to send me an application. It's pretty hilarious, they must have downloaded it from the University of North Carolina website, and then they forgot to change the wording, so it still mentions the University.

So this is ripe for a mass bait. I told the insurance company that my bicycle club "Tail Wind Riders Bike Club" (350 members) is looking for a group policy. Now I think it is time for all of the members to write to them with their questions, concerns, suggestions, etc.

I got the forms. They are painful to look at, definite Hall of Shame material. Don't they have a Kinkos in... wherever he is?

You could buy, say, 20 of these bikes for thr price of insurance. I'm going to see if I can get a discount....

wow, he's all excited about this new bicycle insurance plan. he already replied and answered all the questions in bold. 182,000 covers EVERYONE. no deductibles and medical is included!! great deal, we should jump on this! :)

Well, I asked for a %30 discount as a member of the club. Our lad refused, so I told him the Treasurer of the club had told me we should get a %30 discount.

Don't you think we should get a %30 discount? I sure do! We have over 300 members!

A 30% disount? Hell, I forgot to ask aboot that when I went in on the mass bait. Dopey me... must be because I'm a new member to Tail Wind Riders Club and forgot about the benefits. (this club does accept Harley drivers right?)

Oooh geez... I didn't even request a copy of the letter of compliance I'll need for the Ministry of Insuring Non-Combustible-Fuel-Powered Vehicles. I hope this insurance company has a lot of patience for government bureaucracy. Twisted Evil
