I had an auction for an used laptop that was worth maybe $50 at most. Someone snapped the BIN and "sent" me $2900 via Paypal. But there's so many mistakes it's not funny. #1: no way a 10 year old laptop would ever be worth $2900. #2: my email address for Paypal is different than for eBay; and the "paypal" notices were sent to my ebay address. Finally #3: original end of auction mail had address within USA but other emails says Nigeria.

I checked Paypal anyway, no money ever came. Also eBay canceled the auction shortly after I received the notices and the "money" because the buyer's account was stolen.

I hope you got refunded your listings fee!

$2900 for a cyrix 200mhz laptop. That's gotta be 100% risky free.
If the scammer is paying to collect it, send them a box of bricks.

Another thing you can do is demand a screenshot off him for the payment receipt that paypal give when you make a payment. It'll waste his time if nothing else.

Last edit, promise:
Actually, send him the laptop. Even a box of bricks is worth more than a 200mhz cyrix.

johnny5, you forget that the postage is worth more than the <strike>bricks</strike> laptop.

However, if you can convince him to pay the courier.....

listing 100% refunded since the account was hijacked and eBay yanked the auction.

I could send the package with insane insurance and declared value and let him eat custom taxes. But I'd rather not bother sending anything to Nigeria.
