Looks like Scotland is trying to devolve more power to try and deal with the gun issue. They're 'saying' it's "unconnected" with the other days events, but that's probably been a bit of a kicker (present public support and all that)

It can only be a good thing, but with pi$$-poor border controls(i.e. non-existent) it won't be difficult for someone to go South, buy a weapon, and bring it back.

Several months all of the local television channels interrupted their programming for "breaking news".

The local professional football team had fired it's coach after a losing season.

I know the shooting itself wasn't the point of the thread, but this crime was picked up by one of the news services, and stories ran two days here in southwest Ohio. I believe there was great interest because we rarely hear of a gun-related crime in the UK.

Another short article stated that at least three of the culprits have been arrested. Good work by LE. Do you still have dungeons in the Tower, and all those lovely little machines with ropes, pulleys, straps, wheels, swinging blades, etc? Twisted Evil

A couple of times recently newsreaders have refused to read stories about Paris Hilton and other idiots who dominate the news for no reason whatsoever. There was a bit of debate about whether they were just playing up to boost ratings anyway, but it makes one wonder when the backlash to this 'non-news' will really start in earnest - if ever.
