Every once in a while we get a chance to have a glimpse of genuine lad to lad correspondence. If not boring, stupid crap, it's invariably totally repulsive.

A victim (who will remain anonymous here) who was paying (lots of) money to the lads had this sent to him by mistake by a lad who thought he was sending it to his boss (oga). This tipped off the victim that something was amiss and caused him to do a little googling. The result was a trip to our new victim website www.scamwarners.com.

The victim is being cared for now. He quoted this lad-to-lad email to us:

Spot on KD, if anyone can think of a way to get a lad to pogo stick through a minefield then let me know. These lads ruin lives, don't care who they hurt or what the outcome. I hate to think how many suicides/breakdowns have been brought about by these b@stards let alone relationship collapses and depression. They thoroughly deserve everything they get, and then some. I'm right with you on that sentiment KD....

Fake Cheque scammers, for example, deliberately target the most vulnerable people in society.

People that suffer from disability, or illness.
People that have learning difficulties, or maybe they have young children, and cannot work a regular job.

These "lads" single out this type of victim and prey upon them. Its why I find it hard to call them "lads".

Because to me a lad, means a cheeky chappie, a lovable rogue.
These guymen are anything but that....by all means KD, line them up on that clifftop, I'd be happy to kick some up the arse... Evil or Very Mad

Horrible, truly horrible. My sympathies to the victim and his/her family.

If anyone is thinking "well... the victim shouldn't be greedy in the first place" ask yourself if you agree with this phrase 'when opportunity comes knocking, make sure you seize it'. That's a western mentality (one I personally agree with) and if you were confronted with a scam and had no idea what it was you'd be asking yourself just how stupid someone would be to let an opportunity like this slip... These lads know how to manipulate and deceive the weak so well and take advantage of this very mantra... Time to go and punish my lads collectively for the pain this one has caused. Evil or Very Mad

We're not harsh enough on them. Most of us are simply sending them to WU under false pretenses, wasting their time and getting them to take silly pictures. Tattoos, safaris, etc are closer to the punishment they deserve, but still fall short. Evil or Very Mad
