Mrs. Mathias is celebrating her birthday today and as a gift she did get from me a 10 weeks young girly-cat named "Minka".

This cute cat is the first one I have seen enjoying to catch a mouse-pointer on a flat screen and is also playing with the fishes from the screensaver. So she is a real computer-kitten Razz

Now I want to ask what is your cat`s favourite toy/game to play with?

As for toys, cats usually play with anything. My cats loved anything that rolled, tennis balls, balls of scrap paper etc. Light is favourite as well. A little laser pen can mean hours of fun. Anything that allows them to run around the house is good Laughing

My first cat's favorite game is "Let's see who can sleep the most in one day". He is real lazy and does like playing anything. Another cat that I have absolutely loves playing with a laser pointer. I just run it across the floor and she will chase it down.

My Siamese used to love playing with the plastic ring off the top of a jug of milk. She'd "hide" behind a chair and I'd roll the ring across the floor and she'd pounce, bat it around a couple of times then pick it up and drop it at my feet to start all over again. Works real well on hardwood floors as she used to skid all over the place and frequently ended up knocking herself senseless when she crashed into the wall because she couldn't get any traction! Countless hours of fun!
A real cheap toy is to just make a ball out of aluminum foil. I think the light reflecting off it is the major attraction. I also get old (but clean) socks and stuff them with paper towels and sprinkle a little catnip in there and then just tie a knot in the end. It's big enough that they can grip it in their front paws and try to scratch out it's innards with their back paws.

Samson loves rolled up pieces of paper and chasing a laser pointer. Sophie likes playing with the rings off of the milk cartons. I keep finding them everywhere. They both like those tiny catnip stuffed mice, but every one has disappeared within a day. I have no idea where they're hiding them, but I will probably find 10 of them on the day I move out.

Shadow has loved what I call, tobacco balls, since he was a kitten, whenever I open a packet of foil wrapped tobacco, he sits there waiting for me to roll it in to a ball to throw for him, he used to go after it and carry it back for me to throw again, multiple times, but he only chases it now, but not as much.

The kittens will play with anything, their new toy since last night is a carpet tile rolled in to a tube, they were going mad on and inside it for about an hour, tired themselve right out Very Happy

Our cat, Asbo will claw at anything especially my feet. He's the devil himself I'm sure and has transformed me from a life long cat lover to a devoted cat hater. Pure Evil

Actually we have only one cat in our house but we had up to 4 cats before (15 years ago)

Minka is suffering from diarrhoe at the moment what might be connected to the shots the vet gave her a week ago. We also have stopped giving milk.

Any ideas/suggestions for that???

Cute kitty.
Our cats love to play in empty boxes or containers. If I bring in the washing and empty the laundry basket both our cats run and jump into it so that it shoots across the floor. It's the only game that they play together.
As for your kitty's problems, warm her food a bit as cold food will make the problem worse. You are right to stop milk too.

I never give my cat milk (cows milk). I was once told by my vet it was very bad for them.

Laser pointer... hide the dot under a chair or something... cats camp and will wait for ages to hunt it!

What is it with eater members and cats? I kind of feel bad that I don�t have one now. Funny thing though because today wife and I drove to her mom�s house to pick up a kitten for a friend of my wife. Also so kids can visit grandma since she lives about two and a half hours away. Honestly, I thought this was a ploy to get me to want a cat as my wife has been asking for one.

If found this thread while perusing eater from my phone on the way there but it�s hard to post with it. I told myself if I found a cat thread today that would mean we would end up with a new kitten Shocked

While at grandma�s, I did everything right not to get attached to any of the kittens. Two of her mom�s cats had litters. One had three and the other had four kittens. This is a small amount for a litter isn�t it?

Well, we didn�t get home until 9:30 because we stopped at Tommy�s burger. Well worth cheating on my diet. Anywho, the kitty is staying with us for the night. He is real playful and I�m kind of attached to him. If he weren�t promised to a friend I would have been glad to keep him.

One the brighter side, my wife took him to sleep in the bed with her. First thing he did was peed on the comforter Laughing

I would still love to keep him though. Wife says we can go back and get another one but I like this one Sad

I haven�t had a cat since I was 17 so I forgot how playful and loveable they are.

I think that eater members tend to like cats because you have to bait them. If you want to play with them you have to get something that makes them think they are going to get a treat and then move it away from them.

Laser pointer is a perfect example. Cat thinks he is going to get that red dot and it will be a nice treat. Person enjoys moving dot away.... classic bait situation.

Very old remedy for the "runs"
beaten raw egg with just a tiny bit of milk. The egg acts as a binding agent. If the kitty won't eat it raw then just scramble an egg in a frying pan. I give this regularly to my kittie to keep him regular and the protein in the egg helps keep the coat shiny and cuts down on the dander. I also make sure he has liver every couple of weeks. Doesn't matter what kind of liver - pig, cow, chicken, etc. It has to be cooked but the extra iron really helps as regular store bought cat food is lacking in iron.

Our cat is well by know and we think that it was mainly the change of environment and diet. Now we give her special "cat-milk" (not cow-milk) Very Happy

My cat loved to play wait until dad is reading the paper, then charge at it at top speed and slam into it and watch his head hit the celing. My other cat was a complete nut for plastic milk container tops and scaring dogs.

Mathias, I would try to give the cat water instead of milk (cat-milk or not). It really is a much healthier option for them. Problem is, once they are used to the cat-milk they may not like it when they do not get it anymore. This was advice given to my bu various vets and all cats I ever had got water instead of milk. Milk was a rare treat.

We give the cat only water and rarely cat milk and sometimes malt added.
Today she gets liver (calf) - thats also our meal for today Very Happy

Glad to hear the troubles have cleared up.
Giving a little beaten egg with milk does wonders for the coat. Beats paying out the wazoo for various vitamin treatments. Cats are meat eaters after all. I always give dry food and as a treat a couple of times a week a bit of canned food. Helps keep the furry buggers regular! In the UK we give them malt extract with cod liver oil - my mum used to give it to us kids too! But you can get cod liver oil capsules in the grocery store and break them open and put on their food. Puts a lovely sheen on their coats and helps with the dander problem.
Every time I cook a roast chicken I always give the moggies the liver, lungs and heart. Full of iron. Americans don't like to eat the "offal" of their animals - can't tell you how many times I'm standing at the check out at the store and had the clerk try to scan a package of pig liver and almost barfed on me! Wonder what they would think about my gran serving us up pigs brains in aspic and lambs tongues!!! Steak and Kidney pie was a real treat - try finding kidneys in a grocery store these days! I remember having to chew my way thru an Ox heart - yuck!!! And Ox tail soup really was made of ox tail...

Milk cap hockey - fastest kitty game in the world. My parents' cats play it all the time. They'll even play it with each other. And when non-declawed cats play milk cap hockey on the kitchen floor, you know someone's gonna get a hard check into the boards sooner or later.

A foundling I fostered for a while, then gave to my parents, absolutely loved the old flying spaghetti monster. It was a rod with a string, and on the other end was an octopus-looking thing made out of a bunch of yarn. Playtime involved me whipping it back and forth over the back of the old couch me and my brother had, while Piro would chase it. Good exercise.
