I'm impressed SP! You've only had the new fur balls for a few days and already they are getting that close to Shadow. Maybe it's because they are so young that he's not really getting too aggressive with them. Normally you wouldn't want a kitten until they are at least 8 to 10 weeks old as they are still very dependent on the mother.
I'd still go ahead and get Shadow fixed - a female kitty can have a first litter before the age of 6 months and I don't think you want to go that route!
Good luck and send frequent pics as they grow - they sure are cute! Damn YOU! Now you've got me wanting to adopt again! I just lost 2 cats to old age (15 and 16 years) in the last couple of months and now my 17 year old Siamese is looking a bit piqued...Oh crap! Guess who'll be going down to the humane society soon! I'll send you the vets bills...

Yes, she's the lap cat, as soon as she wakes, she comes over to you, curls up on your lap, and would be quite happy to sit there being stroked all night, so cute Very Happy

Nevar is the one with the attitude, although she doesn't hiss as much at Shadow now, since he slapped her a couple of times, still arches her back and walks sideways past him sometimes, though when I pick her up and offer her up to Shadow, they are nose to nose sniffing each other with no hissing, so they are getting acclimatised quite quickly.

The only time Shadow gets a bit stalkerish, is at night time, it must be his hunting instincts, he might make a charge at them when they are running around, otherwise he just watches them. Found out from the vets yesterday that they only charge 30 to neuter cats, I thought it would have been at least 100 due to them having to be knocked out, going to give it a couple of weeks and then have him done Sad

@ Guymannemisis, sorry to hear about you losing 2 of your cats, get yourself down to the cat shelter and see what you can find, you know it makes sense Wink

Vets do all they can keep keep the costs of neutering animals as low as possible to encourage people to do it. My local council also has a mandatory pet registration program with a BIG discount if your pet is desexed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. I think we pay about $20 per year for our 2 dogs instead of over $100. There are animal patrols who check for dogs without their licence tags and in return for our money we have very well maintained dog parks with plenty of poop bags provided, the bins are emptied regularly, maintenance and landscaping, etc etc.
