Feel free to help yourself to these guaranteed fresh lads.

http://360.yahoo.com/gonzoismyhomeboy

Please notify me if any of them bounce-back, so I can remove them from my blog.

For my part, I will add new addresses to the list as they arrive at my Inbox.

The general consensus is that we DO NOT close down lad's emails. The seniors will be around shortly to explain exactly why. In the meantime, please don't shutdown the emails ... bait them instead.

edit - Hi and welcome

Not to dampen your enthusiasm or anything but I get the impression you're wasting your energy on the wrong project somehow. We have a thriving Surplus forum for all the lad emails you'll ever need, you can respond to various types of 419 sometimes within minutes after they sent them out.

Then there's of course http://www.urgentmessage.org/ with 64430 fresh lad emails at your disposal.

Please go ahead bumping this thread every couple of months if you want to, I just wanted to offer you a possible explanation as to why it maybe isn't as popular and recognized as you'd like it to be.

Another useful lad source:

http://www.repository.izone.me.uk

To explain why we don't close down email accounts, as we all probably know it takes about 2 minutes to create a fresh email account, especially on yahoo. In fact over the years I've made a pretty fine art of it, and I think I can create one in about 30 seconds if I really try to be quick. Closing down a lad's email address is likely to only cost him about 30 seconds of time, or however long it takes him to generate a fresh address.

Lads probably send out so many emails for every "hit" they get from either a real victim or a baiter, chances are they'd keep pretty good track of email addresses that actually are proposing to send them money. I mean if you were doing 419 scamming and after hours and hours of harvesting emails you finally got a victim on the hook I don't think you'd risk losing their address if your account got shut down.

The only people that generally get disrupted by accounts getting shut down are baiters. For all you know, another baiter may well have their particular lad about to send them a bank account that can be forwarded to alan for shutting down, or a website for one of our fake bank killers to take down. By killing that email address you've actually done more harm than good.

Phone lads are generally accepted to be the exception to this rule. I don't know much about them, but there's a whole section of this forum dedicated to phone lads so I'm sure you can find out everything you ever wanted to know there.

Welcome to 419eater. Enjoy Very Happy

Hello Gonzo.

Welcome to the Eater. And, what everyone else said about shutting down the lads' accounts.

It should be said that what you did, you did with the best of intentions. In fact, baiters are probably the only people who will contend that shut-downs are a bad thing. Everywhere BUT here the consensus is to report the abuse and get the account closed, now we're telling you that the rest of the world is wrong.

Nobody can fault you for trying to help fight the good fight. Now that you're seeing how lads operate, I'm sure you'll find new and interesting ways to p**s them off!

Just been reading this site via link from Wikipedia. Kept me up all night.

When the email providers are notified of an address that is being used for scamming, then instead of shutting it down they should add an auto-responder, unknown to the account holder, to alert each new person that emails the address that the provider considers possible illegal use of the account.

If Yahoo/Gmail etc are willing to interfere with an account to the point of shutting it down, they shouldn't have a problem with stating the facts as they see them.

Since the scammers would be none the wiser, and would continue to use the account, it might actually help a lot of potential victims. Closing the account, as providers are doing at the moment, is of no help to the victims because those that are already in contact with the scammer will just get an email from a new address.

There is such a device as you describe, and I have seen it a few times, but it's exceedingly rare, and the email so flagged is so blatantly false that it should not be likely to fool anyone.
Anyway such a system could work equally against baiters as scammers. I agree with those who do not advocate closing accounts. Anyone half way literate could open say 25 accounts in an hour or less.
Having been involved in Lotto and seeing the amount of dead Yahoo accounts, it is my opinion they are shutting them down on keywords detected in the mail, eg claimsagent, fiduciary. things like that.

Okay, I wasn't clear about my own chronology in my original post.

I started-off by trying to get the accounts closed.

Then, I discovered this forum.

I collected all the scammers' addresses I had in one list and offered them up for others to use for baiting.

But, I still had outstanding reports on several of them at the time, so some of them may have been shutdown after my OP.

However, as I stated on my blog (I changed the URL without editing my OP and I'm sorry for that) the account providers either take their sweet time closing the accounts or don't shut them down at all.

So, all email addresses on my blog are valid, as of yesterday.

As for my future plans regarding scammers of all types, I'm going to stop reporting them and simply post their addresses on the blog.

Fair enough?

Don't worry gonzo4life. We're not having a pop at you. The advice to close mail accounts is even on the Metropolitan Police site, and there are other sites that take this attitude.

It may sound arrogant to say so, but we do know better. They are our specialist subject. I deal mainly with Lotto Lads and have a good idea of the varied empires of mail boxes they set up and the varied ways they use them. A well organised Lotto Lad may have over 100 mail boxes and switch victims between them, so that any shutting of isolated accounts would have no effect at all. They wouldn't even need to open a new account. They have plenty, as I - as a baiter - also have many.

Some baiters even show symbols to indicate the most difficult of achievements in their siggy line - the arrest of a scammer, which could be put in jeopardy by the loss of an account, not that that ever comes before the needs of a victim.

All advice and guidance is given with the best of intentions. You're very welcome on board. Very Happy
