Hi all -
Wanted some feedback if you think this is a scammer. Looks like the company name checks out and a legit website...

Scam alright. Your job will consist of putting bad cheques through your bank account for them, sending them the cash (minus a %) and getting into trouble when the cheque bounces.
The fact that it is an unsolicited job offer and this 'big company' are using a yahoo email addy gives it away too.
The name and website are just to add legitimacy. |

Lots of signs that it's a scam:
1. He's using a yahoo address, not a mr-lb.co.jp address.
2. He's using "The Bat!", a mail client that scammer's love.
3. The originating machine in the headers gave a highly unusual name, and seems to have been using a reserved address.
4. ""Financial Manager" is a fancy name for someone who receives checks and sends the money out by Western Union less a few percent commission. |

That's pure gold compared to some of the stuff you get to read here on the forum. But still scam. |

Why do they all love The Bat! so much? I've noticed the viagra spammers are also fond of it, to the point where there's SpamAssassin rules penalizing messages from The Bat! I looked at the website, and it seems very odd and really nothing special. Does it have some particular quality that's they find useful? It's a definite sign of a less-than-legitimate message, though. |

Back when I was on the Mandriva mailing lists, one thing Linux newbie's complained about more than anything else was that The Bat! hadn't been ported to Linux. I've never used it myself, but it has a fanatic following.
Yes, I'm fairly sure they weren't all scammers |
