Some Public School pupils did a video of Chav Hunting. Upper Class Twit of the Year springs to mind.

I found it quite funny, but then the morals of the youth, and all that. Wink

Leave them alone. They're just pissed off because they couldn't blast the grouse out on the sky on the 'Glorious 12th' it falling on a Sunday. So they had to take it out on something else instead. Laughing

I hate chavs almost as much as I hate inbreed accident of birth toffs. There again, I hate everybody. Shocked

In one of the Hitman games, there was a chav hunt. (Your job was to save the chav) Although up until now I never realized why everyone was dressed that way. The chav was wearing a purple running outfit if I remember right.

All this stuff about discrimination against Chavs and some folks forget the name is an acronym of "Council Housed And Violent".

In other words, hunting Chavs is probably for the good of britain Very Happy

I'd just like to point out that I was brought up in a council house, and still live in one - it's not the housing that's to blame for how those people turn out. It's all to do with their (generally) coming from the kind of background where it's regarded as acceptable to live off benefits. When I was a kid ( Rolling Eyes

) you had to pass a vetting process to get a council house where I live, prove that you had a good employment record, and agree to inspections from the council to make sure you were taking care of the property. Sadly, in our PC times, you can't do that. Which is a pity.

It's worth noting for us Yanks, that "public school" in the UK, means "private school" in the U.S. -- perversely.

I reckon Chavs'n'Neds are different. Most Chavs are just funny dressing clowns from the 'burbs whereas a Ned is a wee violent w@nker that won't think twice about sticking a knife in you.

Some people can't take a joke. It's not as if they're actually telling people to hunt down chavs. If it was shown on a satirical TV show like Mock The Week or Have I Got News For You it'd be applauded, because that's what it's intended as. Satire.

The most amusing part of the story for me was how the school asked the creators to "remove it from the internet". Yeah, good luck with that... Rolling Eyes

Believe me, the attitude towards chavs is incredible - it's like 'public school enemy no. 1' - this video doesn't suprise me at all...

My favourite bit of this news story though with how on the BBC Six o' clock news, George Alligiah (correct spelling Confused

), in the headlines, said (something along the lines of): "Private school toffs create an online video - Chav hunter" - and how the entire report was making out that the class divide was all down to this video. Eventhough I go to this school, I don't live in the poshest of places, and as I walk home in my uniform, I have abuse hurled at me and am threatened, by, dare I say it, 'chavs' - Isn't toff just as offensive as 'chav'? Sad

Oh, and I hate posh twats too!

EDIT: Just thinking, if this happened 3 years ago, the BBC must have been saving it for a bit before running the story? I imagine they just have a pool of crap stories as fillers.

Interestingly i went to a public school and as was said, yes, chavs are public enemy number 1 there. Mainly because they are so illogical, rude and arrogant. It sucks walking down the street and having some little tw@t and his mates who i could easily beat the snot out of, telling me what they did to my mum last night or whatever.
It in no way surprises me that this video was made, we all hate(d) political correctness, and deliberately did everything we could in the most un-PC way possible.
However about 50% of the kids who went to the school were army children. The army pays 66% of the fees (hence how i was able to afford to go). The Army do not pay enough to make their soldiers and officers rich! So generalising all the kids there as rich toffs is completely wrong. Plenty of people have had to go see the headmaster to ask for a lower price because they could no longer pay, and plenty of parents take out loans to put their kids through the system. The richest children i found were all the ones that come from China and Hong Kong to study in a UK public school.

I have teenagers so I get to hear most of the 'new' words including emo and the whole lexicon of Aussie slang. My son uses 'un-co' a lot which I believe is 'uncoordinated' which in turn is a slightly less offensive alternative to the dreaded 'sp#z' which I won't allow within my earshot at least.
