Hahahaha, opkay!

I lack a phone, literally, and have no access to one. Long story, suffice it to say I live somewhere off the grid. If he knew where I was, he still couldn't get here, and if he did, it's be a bad mistake for him.

So, lacking a phone, with slow uplink speeds on internet, I had to find a way to avoid talking. I read somewhere about a teletext telephone, and mentioned very early in the bait that I had a damaged vocal chord.

After protesting that this must be a mistake, he apologized for not writing to me directly the first time, that, in fact, he meant to write to "me".

I protested two more times, surely this isn't for me, but he insisted. Since he insisted, I'm willing to collect the 8.3 zillion dollars (I'm working a few, so not sure how much he "has").

Anyway, he asked me again, so I slapped him, as you will see:

The only phone I have is at my office, which my business partner, ******, uses. He does all of our talking, or one of the
receptionists. You suggested to keep them out of this. So unles you
want to use the teletext phone at your bank, email would be best. If
you would like, i can call your teletext phone.

My name is ******. You said you got all of this from my
profile? Why are you asking for it again?

I am happy to help you. It looks like a good deal for me, but it is
very painful for me to have to remind you that I AM VOCALLY DISABLED!
I CANNOT SPEAK! I know sign language, and I hear perfectly, but I
cannot talk, and I cannot use a regular phone.

It is painful for me to keep repeating myelf, but I am unable to speak
because of my accident. If you wish to do business with me, PLEASE
remember that. I don't want to have this come up again.

So what would I have to do next?

I only ask you for the phone number for record purpose only. I got you right from the unset and believed you too with your explanation in regards to your accident. Yes I said so for security reasons, and I still stand by it because this is part of my life and must not make any mistakes. I would have loved us to use the teletext but regret to say all calls from the teletext is been monitored. I do agree with you as the email is still the best!

I asked for your full information again because some times information�s can be changed from the internet for a reason that was why I asked you for it. Please understand me since I don�t want to make mistakes.

^^^ Ummm you have a bone fide reason not to talk on the phone... and long explanation to go with it... I suggest that whatever it is is a perfect reason to give you lad.

Can an OP really hijack their own thread?

Back on topic that Sticky is a really good one to read through, I've been baiting for a few months but I got a few good tips out of it. When it comes to phone do what you're comfortable with, there are so many options. Sounds like you're pretty onto it when it comes to baiting safe though.

As Red said, you can just tell the truth about the phone, or if you want a phone number, sign up at k7.net for a free one. It will allow you to receive faxes and phone calls (they can leave you a message that you can listen to at your downloaded leisure).

For a mentor you need to tug Cherrie on his sleeve. I see you already signed up in the mentor thread. Please be advised that getting a mentor is not automated here when you post in that thread. A mentor will not show up immediately on that same day. It usually takes about a week to find a baiter who would be a good match with you and Cherrie likes to wait a few days to see if you stick around. A lot of people register after the thrill of reading some of the published baits, think it is a great new thing to do, sign up for a mentor and then disappear when the newness wears off. To save time, new people requesting a mentor need to wait a couple of days, usually about a week, before getting one assigned.

K7 is great for a phone contact number. just google k7. It gives you a number (in the US, no matter where you are) where you can record your own ansaphone mesage, and then it emails a .wav file to you when you recieve a message. You can register with completely fake info and send .wavs to your catcher account. The best thing is, if you are on dial up it doesn't matter, your messages will be waiting for you whenever you log on. As long as you say you are busy a lot, the scammers get to hear your voice and it increases the believability of your bait. Hope that made sense, i'm a little drunk tonight!

Got my lad sending me banking info! He doesn't want to use the banks teletext phone, so sad about my vocal chords and the tragic trampline/lawndart accident.... Sad

If the lad send you bank information, can you forward the email with full headers to [email protected]? Please make sure that there is sufficient information in that email to be clear it comes from a lad, otherwise copy/paste previous letters with evidence in that mail as well. Alan will forward the information to the involved parties and they will investigate the bank account. It can belong to the lad, but can also be of a real victim.
