Thanks Nurse ^^

Although I suppose the problem I have most is with confidence. I'm not really a great liar, so I might find it a little hard to convincingly pull a scammer into doing stuff for me. :3

Of course you are. You're human right?

Bite your tongue! There is a big difference between lying and playing a role.

Take it easy. Read that thread and jump on in.

Hehe, you're right. I do a lot of RolePlay on other forums so I guess if I look at it that way it's not exactly lying. I just thought it might be harder for me to lie as I am a borderline autistic and my parents picked up that I pretty much can't lie. But then they can't see my face, so they can't tell if I'm lying Very Happy

And I'm not too paranoid about my IP address being tracked either since it lands all the way somewhere in england (where my ISP is I assume). I'm up in scotland so I'm safe Very Happy

You'll be fine. The lads won't be able to see your face. It's roleplaying. Trust me, I'm a nurse.

as an update, I've initiated contact with this scammer, so I'm now awaiting a response. I'll keep checking your thread for what to do and if I have any other questions I'll ask.

Thanks again nurse!

Hi all!
OK, sign me up for a mentor. I don't have to fill out any forms or applications, do I? I mean, there isn't a 2,500 question questionaire that awaits me? The reason why I'd like a mentor is because my new bait has been dwadling just a bit and I need to find a way to light a fire under his slovenly a$$. If there's one I can't stand it's a slacker. If you're gonna be a scammer, then by Gawd at least you can be a punctual scammer, IMVHO.
BOB

yeh, will send you some forms that need completing... you will have to print them out and fill them out in triplicate and send them back..

also a photo of you with a sign saying "I need a mentor" will be required for the records. Twisted Evil

@ChazFox;
You're gonna do great my man! As I see it, you've already gotten past the biggest hurdle, which was joing this forum. This tells me that you are serious about:
A) Doing your small part to keep these scammers occupied
B) You have a sense of morality & decency &
C) You want to have a barrel of laughs!

I'm a noob also and I am nervous as heck, but I figure that even if I do muck it up terribly, it won't be much of a loss as there's always fresh scammers just waiting to ply their trade across the net. Besides, I picked out a lad for my first bait whom I seriously doubt has a brainwave. I mean, if you look in the dictionary under the word DUMB, I suspect his photo will be there. I did this quite intentionally as I plan on making lots of mistakes and I don't want to clue this lad onto what's going on. If nobody will mentor us then we can mentor each other and sorta prop each other up. And if we screw it up, who cares? There's always a whole new crop of lads just waiting for the corner net cafe to open.

Thanks Bob Very Happy

I'm still waiting for my bait to bite, but in the meantime I've been undermining 419 scam sites through Muguito (hats off to aa419 for the program!).

So far I've leeched 4.59GB of precious bandwidth from Mugus worldwide Very Happy

Ummm...this thread was actually meant for people requesting a mentor. Let's try to drag the chit chat and the questions to the forums, shall we? Smile

No problem at all. I'm actually glad about every one of you who successfully manages to post in this thread ("reply") instead of accidentally starting a new thread ("new topic"). Thumbs up Wink

I'm planning my first scambait and I was wondering how one would go about getting their lad to send a trophy.

Might be a little hard getting a trophy on your first scambait, but then I've never baited either so I'm probably not one to trust Razz I am however keeping it safe and going for a straight bait. If the opportunity arises I might try for a safari though Very Happy

Dunno what the master baiters round here think but they might suggest starting out with a straight bait and seeing where that takes you Smile

Okay, I'll try just going for a straight bait, but if I feel confident enough, I'll go for a trophy. Cool

Again, this might not be true, but this is just from looking around the website at people's responses:

If the opportunity arises, take it.

My earlier post was meant to read as, "For your first scambait, don't go baiting with intent for a trophy, you'll probably fail". If you find that your bait has put complete trust in you, try and move in for the kill and get a trophy out of it. Or failing that, try a safari. I'd find the safari more rewarding since you know that your bait's just wasted time and money coming to meet a non-existent you at an airport. Don't stop there, give him a juggle round too! Say you had to take another airport at the last minute, make sure it's one really far away too ^_^

As Swiss Toni would say (apologies tommo) baiting a lad is like making love to a beautiful woman.....................

You have to work at the relationship. trophy photo's don't grow on trees. You have to make the lad feel that your money is special. Its just waiting to go to the WU. all it needs is that extra little form filling in, that security photo sending etc.

Even in the near two years i've been a member its gotten harder to get trophies. Perseverance is all in this game!

@Genko

I suggest that you read some of the published baits ( not just shivs) to give your self some idea's. then start straightbaiting ( see Otterfans guide) three or four lads. If you lose one, go and pick up another from the surplus lad forum.

Finally, get yourself a mentor!

good luck
