Let's not forget an important point here. Your mugu was not very specific in what kind of shoe now was he? For example... how much money can you fit into

- a Horseshoe
- a Brake Shoe
- a Circuit Shoe
- A Brazing Shoe

especially with the front removed or cut off or whatever this educated barrister is suggesting? Lots of possibilities with this one.

Of course, you could just give your lad a good hard slap for suggesting this modality. "Hide it inside a shoe? The cops would NEVER look there!" Either way, your mugu looks like an idiot. So... Congratulations!

You could say that a shoe might seem suspicious if the customs opened it.

Then suggest a variety of ever more ludicrous devices to hide the cash in.

I'd start with this :

Tell him you'll include batteries and wrap a large denomination note round the bottom one. Then if it's opened and checked, everything will appear to be working normally.
