I am
What with having both kids home for the "Summer" (what a joke!!) holidays, lads are having to take a back seat right now. I only have 3 on the go right now Just wait til the kids are back and I've got more time to devote to them though. I plan on taking it up a notch from how I was before. |

I guess it's time for that postponed operation you need then
Or that special training your boss had planned for ages No big deal, just explain it to your lad and he'll understand it. |

^^ I'm the same Persephone, taking my annual break in the last week of September until mid October.
I go to the United Arab Emirates so it's both too hot and too expensive this time of year. Plus I don't want to miss summer in London. There is far too much sitting around in parks / on the river with my mobile Pimms chiller to be done! And of course too much baiting.
I'll definately be giving the lads a break come September though. My partner will kill me if I'm internetting from the hotel bar in Dubai! |

Holidays..... oh I wish.
It's deepest darkest winter here in New Zealand. Next public holiday is at the end of October, next annual leave is after Christmas.
Wow.... isn't that depressing. |

I dont think I could have ever waited an entire year to take some time off. I always used my vacation/comp time in pieces. I took at least two to five days off every month. With OT as plentiful as it was everyone did this. This of course only added to the OT being plentiful
I dont know how you all do it waiting a year for time off. (This is what you mean by holiday, right?)
When my kid was like four he asked me to have mommy call in and say I was dead so I would have to work anymore |

Not exactly. About 15C. Though the cold isn't the problem. Last time we had a day that it didn't rain was part way through June I think. |

Stop complaining..
You youths are lucky, In my day it was -34C, and we had to walk 5km to school every morning in waist deep snow, barefoot, when we got to school our teacher beat us for being 3 minutes late. She then made us stay outside at lunch when there was gale force winds.
When we finished school we had to walk home again, barefoot but this time chest deep in snow and -45C, when we got home our mother beat us for being home just after sunset. Then we had cold gruel for dinner and went straight for bed. But no that was pure luxury, a few years on I had to live in a cardboard box just bigger enough to sit in!
(One of my Grandfathers "In my day" stories) |

That's nothing. My father used to get us up, before we went to bed and make us lick 't road clean wit' tongue. We'd work 34 hrs a day, and have to pay fo' the privilage...etc...
