when you say stickys? are they different from the regular posts??? i am going down the list and have tried to read as much as possible... but the 1st few days i was addicted to the shiver metimbers baits... now i am interested in this... what are stickies?

can anyone tell me what all these new emails are i keep getting about a friend or classmate who sent me a postcard??? i never got these before but for the past couple weeks they are coming like wildfire... i keep sending them to the junk folder but can anyone tell me what they are... even though i send them to bulk... they still get through???

Oh, there is a great feature here called "Search Function." If you use that, you can type in key words and may be able to find relevant threads to some of your questions that the stickies do not answer. It can come in very handy.

Heya MrBT, welcome to Eater. The emails you describe sound spammish not scammish.

Stickies are the posts on the top of the forums. They have an arrow in front of them instead of a star thingy. They are important. Questions will be answered in these stickies that most people have when they just joined the forum.

2 things... what does trolling mean??? i am straight up... i'll give you my personal cell phone now to prove it.. if you want to ask any ?'s...

2nd i will take any mentor that offers... doesnt have to be only one... im just not so computer lilterate as i'd like to be... but like i stated before... i am part time due to being a merchant marine and currently on a ship for the next 3 months... my service will come and go... am off the coast of california right now and in the next couple days willl be going back to the gulf of mexico... 3 weeks offline... but i will be back.
i want a mentor who can teach me to be good at stringing along... because that is what i see from this... i think i can string along a scammer... but i will have to start small... i want to be as good as shiver metimbers... he is definatly ... my hero... i have been rolling laughing reading his shit

mrbigtime, I'm not a very experienced baiter, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I think you have a talent for asking many questions. Don't think I'm joking right now, cause I'm serious. I mean, I hope you ask your lads(scammers) as many questions as you've been asking here.

Examples could be:

How do I use Western Union?
How do I transfer money from bank to bank?
What's a MTNC?

I mean really nitpick their emails apart. Ask all about what you don't know and even about what you do.

Anyway, good luck and bait safe.

EDIT: If you do all that and manage to keep a lad on the hook, I would LOVE to see copies of your work.

i am not yet playing any bait but would love to start.... my issue is that i am in california and in 2 days will be offline for 3 weeks... not really a good time to start... i will however like to put my fake email on the list as to have a few to choose from when i do get back on line...i am not so sure of what type of scams to attatch myself to... but i am good at the questions... and would love to get to the point of not only stringing along... but throwing in the funny shit too... i ahve kinda been working on a character and have some good answers to reasons to not do things... another thing i am picking up on here by reading the archive letters in getting bank info to send money to... if i do get that info... what then?.... how to shut them down... i dont need the recognition at 1st but eventually would love to know how... and get my own trophys... my fake email name is harleyrider but i am also deaf... because i am no good on the phone... and my name is micheal hawk ... i want to see one of these f*%@ers holding a sign with mike hawk on it... i think i would be good at stringing along... but the good stuff comes with shutting them down... then i want them to actually send me something... at their expense of course

mrbigtime: I agree with Doctor X's point about the paragraphs, punctuations, and capitalization. It would just make your posts easier to read for the other members. Plus, it will get your point across with more clarity.

Ok everyone.

It is 1 am here on the west coast of Califonia and i am about to go to bed. I will have to work at 6am. I hope I didnt piss anyone off. Just bear with me a little while, I am a fast learner as well as a big smartass...
I am just tickled pink that I found a place where I can be an asshole to somebody... haha... dont forget i am sloshed... and may well be tomorrow as well , until this bottle runs out... let me reitterate that i am a sailor and have been forced into rehab for the past month and today i was given a furlow... but will be in rehab again for a few weeks... I do have a serious side but not while in this state... but be asssured... in a scam, this state could help drag out a long time... and asking a lot of questions... i want to be able to not only drag it out but shut them down... and cost them as much money as possible... i always thought that these scammers were well versed in thier scams and cunning people, but after reading the archives i am seeing that any regular joe who can get into an internet cafe... which is another thing i dont know much about... and the mentor can help me realize how to waste the most time and resources ... I have traveled the world and seen a lot of 3rd world countries ... i dont know much about nigeria although i have sailed with a lot of them... i do have a slight racist side... that is not my motive... i want to grift a grifter...

and please dont hold me to any collegic standard because i am not... I learned through the school of hard knocks and can play it right back... I can never play the lawyer or ceo of anything... but i can play the regular joe, the disabled veteran, the ordinary guy who has millions from the accident with the lawsuit money... the arrogant american who won the lottery... just bear with me and give me guidance... i will not let you down... and will neeed help on how to post my emails and prizes, but will also need assistance with some photoshop work...

Welcome aboard mbt, The two best bits of advice I ever got from here were:

1. Read the stickies
2. Bait safe

I understand you might be new to forums, just take a minute before you post
to make sure what you are asking hasn't been asked a thousand time before.
Use the

function at the top of your screen.
Granted, it's not always guaranteed to give you what you want, but it's a good start.

I'm not too hot on spelling and grammar myself, but make an effort out of respect for
other board members. It helps if we all do our bit to rub along.
We are on the same side after all.

Hello MBT, mentrix here. Not sure if you spot the PM, so will post here as well. Let's see, where to start.....

First, this forum. When you go to forum.419eater.com/forum you see the Index, divided into subforums. I would suggest you stick to the one on the top: Main scambaiting forum and the third forum: Hints and Tips. When you click on either one of them, you see this whole row of threads. The ones on top are the stickies.

Most of the questions you asked can be found there.

I see how it may not be a good idea to start baiting at the moment due to your personal schedule. So..... best thing to do at the moment is to read the stickies from these two fora. I promise you they will answer a lot of your questions. If you get any new questions, feel free to PM me, you already know how to do that.

I see you offered to give out your personal cell number. Don't. On these forums, do not share your real name, your postal address, your resident address, your work address, landline, social security number, cell phone number or other personal information people could mis-use. Not in the threads, not in PM. Go by that rule, and you made a first step to baiting safe.

Another good thing to remember is to use free email clients for baiting lads, such as Hushmail (www.hushmail.com). Do not use your own personal email address.

One last thing and then I will leave to read those darn stickies everyone keeps talking about: racism is not condoned here. In ANY form. Eater has a strict no racism policy.
