It's in episode 8 from the 3rd TFS series. Can't find anything on Youtube or Google Video however. This is the hilarious clip that precedes the funeral.

That music is called 'You Were Always on My Mind'. It was especially composed by a guy called Philip Pope for the series so is not commercially available to buy.

No, that's definitely not the tune, It was a classical piece.

Apparently it was that piece, but it was given a rather odd name. A friend of mine works at the BBC, and I asked him. He is very reliable when it comes to this sort of thing.

Strange that it was given the same name as an already well-known tune, but I'm prepared to believe you Smile

When it was first played on the show it I was certain that I had heard it before.

Gonna have to try and track that episode down and sample the music!

I just downloaded the full version of 'Fantasia On A Theme' and it's definitely the right tune (or the one I remember at least). On the version I downloaded the actual part doesn't kick in until around 2 minutes 14 seconds in.

It's beautiful [sniff]. The download says it's the theme from Master & Commander? Maybe that's why it's familiar.

Edit: The full title is "Fantasia On A Theme By Thomas Tallis" composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams, sometimes called "Tallis Fantasia". It's available on iTunes performed by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, conducted by Sir Neville Mariner. There's a version of it on YouTube too.
