Putfile has removed all my audio....

Apparently, someone got their panties in a twist and reported my account to Putfile... All my audio has been removed due to "TOS violation" Rolling Eyes

Fortunately, I still have copies of all of them....
Unfortunately, I'm locked out of that because Windows got corrupted on that hard drive and the user account is password protected... Rolling Eyes

Sorry about losing your files...

Have you tried to 'slave' the faulty drive and read the files?

Haven't had the time to try it out.. I have Mandriva One.. TheGreatOok told me how to use linux to recover the files.. I'll just have to get with the program Laughing

Howler if you need help... I am not a Linux head, but I had moderate success retrieving files from bad drives...

I assume you'd already tried seeing what Safe Mode can do.

There's some way that you can "take possession" of a drive such as that, I think. Once you've done so it doesn't matter if windows on that drive has a password or not.

I'm no real computer expert though.

Can't you write Putfiles and ask exactly HOW you violated their TOS? (although I have a feeling that it may have something do with explicit language or something). If their grounds for dismissal are incorrect, they may re-open your account???

The account is open.. the files have been removed.. I do have my domain I host my audio on now.. But I'm just wondering how long it will be before the ever so kind individual who reported me to putfile, reports me to my host... Rolling Eyes

I do not think Putfiles can add your audio back into the account, even if they wanted to Sad

Did you post any of the audio somewhere else? Bit weird that people would report you considering you always put a NSFW next to the audio when necessary. It stinks Evil or Very Mad

Just like to add my technical knowlegde to this:

1) You can use a linux boot disk and clear the password for administrator on the windows install, but be warned, if you use any kind of "drivespace" type compression on the harddrive you may not get in.

2) a great boot disk for windows os's is ERD commander 2005, that also works wonders on screwed admin logins.

the second method is the safest.

If you have access to a working Windows machine (which I assume you have), give BartPE in connection with null's PE Tools a try. It's similar to ERD Commander but free, and the Backdoor utility will give you access to any Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 computer with the ability to (but no need to) change any password.

To fix a Windows machine I personally prefer a Windows-based boot disk (for the same reason as CI mentioned above), because you get Microsoft-certified access to NTFS drives and the registry. Linux is great but has some limitations/risks there.
