Value of BT58 = 27
Value of BT54 = 3
Value of BT42 = 30
Value of BT24 = 7
Now my brain tells me thats easy total = 67, however excel says the total for those 4 cells is 69
There straight numbers not sums of sums so a "circular" calculation isnt occuring. I spotted it in my order forms for 69 units and im like "eh? we never order 69 units" Seems excel 2007 really cant add up correctly.
Now its obvious why i noticed the total, our offices made a right laugh of the number itself. Anyone else getting weird sums with 2007? |

Yup same result 69.
I rang microsoft but there not open till 9am this morning so ill find out soon why it dont work lol.
ive also searched the knowledge base and googled it. |

You might try changing the cell properties on BT58, BT54, BT42 and BT24 to show a couple of decimal places. 27.4 + 3.4 + 30.4 + 7.4 = 68.6 or 69
But I wouldn't expect order quantities to be fractional. |

What I meant was that the OP suggested the bug appeared in the first version - what would the result be using the second? That would narrow the location of the bug down. |

The correct form is either

| =sum(BT58,BT54,BT42,BT24) |
or
| Code: |
| =BT58+BT54+BT42+BT24 |
but any of the other versions work OK in Excel 2003, they're just redundant. |

Are you sure its a number in the BT58? and not labeled as text? ive seen excel do weird stuff to numbers that isnt formated as a number |

I tried my best (with Excel 2007) to add everything up like you said but all I get every time is 67. |
