So, in the Pass the Parcel Scambait we had a lad who wanted to send us money. Of course, we don't cash bait, so we told him to send the money to our character, great, no worries. He sends us a WUXFER:

Now, would you believe it, the MTCN is a no go Rolling Eyes

pretty much what we expected. The funny thing is that this lad sent a WU form allegedly from Togo but his IP resolves to Ghana... whoops.

So, naturally our character complains that he is being jerked around (it is so much fun to pretend to go through what they really do! Laughing

). Now we get this in the email box from "" @ a yahoo address:

We placed a stopped order of a wire which was claimed to be yours.Our fund control unit detained a young boy Cxxxxx Oxxxxxx when we noticed he was in pocession of a large sum of fund which he wants to transfer via western union to you. So we had to detain him and confirm if you were the one who told him to transfer the fund. Because on going to his room we saw a huge sum of fund which he said was yours. So we are now writing to confirm if you are the person who sent him. If you are the one who sent him, then we have no problem we can release him and then he continues with the transfer of the wires to you. So let us know. We waiting for clarification.

It does seem a little bit like a baiters response...
Maybe they are trying to gain your confidence so that you congratulate them on an arrest and admit that you are a scambaiter.... Rolling Eyes

It seems to rambly to me for a true baiter response. It is odd, though. Maybe the kid is going to be arrested or the fund confiscated and you will have to bribe officers to get them released to you?

I think that you went to the WU office to collect it and they gave you some forms to fill out. Wait, not you, him. They gave you forms to give the sender to fill out. Twisted Evil

It's not a lad wasting our time 'because he's fingered us as baiters'... I mean, why would he bother making up a fake WU receipt?

It's just a really weird way of going, and his IP is consistently resolving to Ghana, so no worries there.

But it is very much similar to baiters tactics, and threw us right off, its nice to see some originality! Very Happy

Makes it all the more fun when we turn the screws and administer some pain!

Also, since he sent the money from Lome, Togo... this is PERFECT for a safari! When it comes time to make payment, you can just send the money to Togo and slap him when he wants it sent to Ghana. Lome and Accra are only like 60 miles apart, but there is a nice border crossing, enough to score a safari. If you need help on some good safari modalities using WU, let me know. Twisted Evil
