I have been discussing with Simba how it is quite hard to keep track of whos lad is who when they phone. I plan to set up a pimp my phone access database on a subdomain I have. This will allow anyone who is going to send a lad to any of the operators enter the name of the lad, the baiters name (and victims name), a brief summary of the story so far and who's number they have given the lad.

It basically means if I have a lad phone me and I get his name I can just search it in the database and instantly know what the score is. It also means that I or any of the operators can just go look under their name on the DB and can see who to expect to call. Would any of you be interested in using this? especially vpmanchester etc. I would just like thoughts and opinions to see if any of you would find this useful, if not Im sure I can use it to keep my stories straight Wink

That sounds a good idea calvin. I'd certainly be interested in using it.
My pimp number service is just a few days away from activation now so I think it would be helpful to me.

From what I've seen of her work, VPManchester just likes to wing it and enjoys the confusion she causes for the lads. Hell, half the time, I gather her side of the conversations don't necessarily have to make any sense! Laughing

true, Im more thinking we can use it instead of our PM inbox being chocca full of requests with specific plot points, we can all just use the DB to keep any specific story straight Wink

Good thinking calvin. While PMP is an awesome idea and service it would be even better to have a bit more of a system attached to it so we can cause maximum confusion.

well I will try to get it set up on the sub domain over the weekend. O got a free trial for 3 months, so we can all trial it and if nobody uses it then we can drop the idea. I will post here once it's up and let you all know where it is if you want to use it Wink

Quick question Calvin: (Off topic slightly, apologies).

Do you mind me asking how you got your number set up? I'm using a cheap unlocked phone off ebay (8 quid) and a new sim card (A pound off ebay).
So a whole new dedicated phone and number for 9 pounds. So far so good.

Trouble is, to activate the sim you need to top up with �10 credit. Do you know any way around that, or is that what you've done as well?

I'd appreciate your views, PM if necessary to keep the thread clean and on topic.

calv1n_klein Great idea C, I was wondering about a thing like that, just so you could easily see who or what is calling. I changed the text a bit on the sticky list, If you guys would have a look there too.

Anyone got any experience with sorting out a front end for MySQL? I had an access database, have now converted it to MySQL but can't get the front end to behave itself. Any help would be appreciated Wink

Go ahead Bill. My number is active as of last night, my operating hours are 0900 hours to 2300 hours GMT (generally) and my number is UK based.
If lads can't get an answer for any reason it's because I'm asleep.

I don't have any wishes other than that people need to give me notice if they want me to stick to their script.
Otherwise I'll just blather on like Rowley Birkin QC.

Users should also note that I do travel away on business (seriously) so the number may be unavailable from time to time, usually for no more than 3 to 5 days a month.
