for the first time since '86, I am seeing the team I've wanted to see for a long time.
Specially with Messi and Tevez having already wet their feet. These men are now seasoned enough as anyone could see.
Messi has been compared to Maradona, and rightfully so, since he has been doing some amazing things both in Barcelona and with "La Seleccion".
No one can truly say that Maradona did not provide Argentina with what she needed at a time when she needed it most. There are those who hate him so much for sending england walking home in 86, that they try to ridicule him, bring up his drug use, post bad pics of him etc... But that doesn't change the fact that Maradona is, and always will be God in the eyes of millions upon millions of people all over the world, no matter what anyone says.
You can ask anyone in Argentina what happens when they watch that game today... I will be the first to admit it brings tears to my eyes even today... I was at the stadium when I was 13 years old, so I have a special connection to that day, and I can say that the whole stadium stood up and yelled with us when the second goal came in, with the exception of a few, of course, the feeling was indescribable, the yelling suffocating, it was as though you had your head in a jet engine at full blast...
I'm hoping we'll get another fix soon enough.
Please share your thoughts on Messi, Tevez, or any other player you might like... |

First. We have tons of womanizer over here far bigger than that guy.
And second. He's an example for the youths. The government anti drug program used him as spoke person and role model.
(I don't know why I'm laughing... they did it with my money...)

Argentina were my pick at last year's world cup for quite a while of it. Even though I didn't know many names from that team, they seemed to be pretty complete especially when they thrashed one team (former Yugoslav country I think) 6-0 during the pool games.
Never quite happened that way though (sorry for bringing back painful memories). |

I take it you mean he's a cheating, hand balling, b*stard? The poison dwarf wasn't and isn't fit to lace the late George Best's or Pele's boots.

Would like to see Tevez link up with Rooney and Ronaldo at United, and this Brazillian, Anderson too.
^^^Talking of being bitter. Pele seems to be getting a bit narky these days...
Maybe its due to his erection problems... |

@Tommo
Make sure there are no people from Naples around when you even remotely criticize Maradona, they've awarded him sainthood and still sell most Napoli shirts with "Maradona" written on the backside.
Messi is a near perfect footballer in all respects but he's still too young to judge whether he has the personality to become a true hero. There's just so many nearly perfect young players that magically disappear after one or two convincing seasons. Like Gilardino. |

^^^Nice to see they've awarded him sainthood. He just needs to fulfill the necessary criteria - none of this living saint crap.

What happened to that American guy who got a professional contract at 14? Wasn't he meant to be the next greatest footballer in the world or something? We haven't heard much about him for a while... |
