kidnap a child for rasom. I am completely disgusted by it.
The southern regin of Nigeria is generally impoververished. I get that. But that can never ever justify kidnapping a little girl to get money. The gunmen should get no sympathy from anyone no matter what they might say to justify it. |

Came a bit late to this. Alan Johnston was released when Hamas arrested activists from the Kidnappers group. It reminds me of the time when Lebanon was the kidnapping centre in the Middle East. The Russians has a some diplomats and officials kidnapped. One was killed. The diplomats vowed to get their people released and they quickly were. The Russians approached and paid a sunni militia to hunt the kidnappers. The militia abducted family members of the kidnappers and sent them a hand from one of the family. The Russians were released.
I know that we must have civilised standards of behaviour, but I sometimes think that for once, the Russians had the right idea. It isn't often you will hear me say that. |
