I received this cheque-cashing email today. It looks pretty slick, not only does it offer a cheque cashing job but there is also "financing" page to get people that way.

If that's fake, it's the best one I've ever seen...note that they have their own email domain! I've never seen a scammer use anything but a free host (yahoo etc.). But it's clearly a scam...look at the Regional Assistant position, it's 100% scam.
Should this be sent to Alan? Or does he only kill fake bank sites?

They're still at it, those mooks at Sydney Car Centre. I'm getting probably 15-20 e-mails daily with varying fake senders, but always from the http://sccentre.jp/ base site. I'm using SpamCop to send them along each time, but seriously... the email is EXACTLY the same, except for the fake sender's name (which, I might add, is always different from the signer's name at the bottom of the letter...). You'd think that after 20 attempts a day for over a week now, and no response, they'd take me off their spamscam list...  |

Every time I do a whois search on the domain sccentre.jp, it comes up with a different IP address. Forgive my ignorance, but are they using some sort of anonymizer??

It does that because it is on a botnet. Some botnet hosted sites pop from IP to IP like ping pong balls as they move from one compromised computer to another, others move more slowly. This one is a veritable Mexican jumping bean. |
