Received this nice message from my church recruit. He was supposed to fill in an application form (admittedly, a little bit long) and he lied several times about "working on it", but all in all, he was pretty keen. Then I got this:

Since it's so close to Ghana, maybe he could meet you there to get confirmed as a full member of your church. Wink

^^^ Yeah, I'm putting the pressure on him. My lad character has actually received a full payment from the church and is establishing a chapter. But it sure seems like he's twigged.

All ideas are very welcome.

Play hard to get? Ok - I have never inducted anyone from west africa before - but thats ok. If you question your faith then we have many other worthy causes who could benefit.

^^^ I have denied him with one character and opened my arms to him with another.

I have both the secretary and the priest working him right now.

On one hand the secretary has told him that God will not look favourable upon those who waste the church's time, and so we have chosen another recruit to take his place.

But with the priest I treated him like a son and told him we would do whatever we can to help him Rolling Eyes

I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.

It doesn't sound like he's gone yet, he just needs a little reassurance. Tell him that you are deeply troubled that his friend was decieved by a cult and you think it was horrible that it happened, but he should not let the wicked actions of that evil religion tarnish his faith in the goodness and charity of your church. Tell him that you will talk to his friend and try to offer words of comfort and counselling. For that you can go here. I personally like to start the lads out with the book of Job. Cut and paste a few passages for them to read and make sure they give you a detailed explanation of their interpretation of the passage. Twisted Evil

Tell him that if the church has to trust him with the funding money, the questionnaire is just the beginning unless he wants to come to XXX and talk to father XXXX, but it will be on his cost as the church can�t provide money without all the questions answered Twisted Evil
