I got a reply from one of my lads where he screwed up and called me by my quote, instead of my alias.
I didn't let on, but it made me suspicious.
Any ideas on how to capitalize on it?
Am I being set up by a person reading the forum?

Have you tried googling your quote? Lads do occasionally arrive here by that means.

I've been busted by a lad who gave me the link to my ongoing published bait on this forum. He told me to stop joking and never answered my emails. I don't publish ongoing baits any more. I was a over eager newbie and just loved the name my lad was using; 'Macc Donald'... Laughing

If he has sprung you then drop the bait and start baiting from another account (or several) and if he (the scamming scum) is reading this thread he'll be blatantly aware that his next victim could be a baiter... forever... Very Happy

EDIT: If he hasn't said anything about it, it is also possible he read here and didn't twig what baiting is. This might explain why he is continuing to email you, because normally they wouldn't bother.

suggestion - edit your post, highlight your baiting name, and when it's highlighted click the button labeled "Mask". The Mask function renders text unsearchable via google.

as for question - it does sound like your pet has been here reading.

I generally avoid mentioning my baiter name in this forum for that very reason. Where I publish full accounts of baits just change a few i's to 1's and so on and that should prevent too much googling.

I'm down with red. If he's a real keeper... rinse, wash, and repeat on as many addresses and aliases as you like sellingrich. He'll just be a harder mark, but some of us love a good challenge.

I would believe that many mugus have found this site, especially the more organized ones that live in (no offense) more civilized areas of the world. Keeping in mind that scammers come from all countries and all walks of life, I'd bet that quite a few of them have been here.

It doesn't take a PHD to look at a forum (I'm proof), and many of them seem to be a bit more savvy than their scripts will let on. If they can comb the net looking for fake ID's, they can probably to a google search just as easily. Ain't technology wonderful?

Lads drop in here regularly to have snoop around. Personally, I think it's a good thing, the more paranoid they are the better as far as I'm concerned.
