After less than 24 hours in, I have 115 replies to my check scammer mass bait. The goal is to send 1 e-mail at a time with everyone Bcc'd. My next move is to ask questions for 2 or 3 mailings, then hit them with a drop box address. I want to see how far I can hold myself back from individually replying to a scammer. The results will go as good info for my eventual AUTO-BAITER Program.

Any suggestions?

will it be by registered post
how long between receipt and cashing
which is better MG or WU
What Bank Account do you want the balance sent to
What Accounts have to be kept
How do I pay the Income Tax (from his share?)

The BIG NET modality is kicking ass. My other mail addies and the 419 shuttle give me plenty of mugu to punish which allow Me to really take my time on this one and allow them to mature slowly. The mass check bait is 3 mass mailings in for Me now and I have 100+ check scammers chomping at the bit.

I still haven't even given them My name yet.

On my other individual baits, I have managed to get a "Textile Company" to agree to pay Me 93% Commission ! I told them for that much I will be EVERYONE'S exclusive check cashier. Razz

I am at the point where I am beginning to see where the more esoteric baits are becoming available. After 1000+ (++++) emails I have sent in 9 months I am aware of the fact that there are so many of these fucking bugs out there you can screen for YOUR CRITERIA and not care about those that "get away". And of course fewer and fewer "get away" anyways.

After sending 5 e-mails (Actually 10 because I had 750 in my Bcc's and google won't do them all in one whack) I have 292 responses. I Haven't read them all yet, they seem to all be swimming up the pipe just fine.I just sent the 5th (or is it 6th, don't remember exactly). e-mail . My next e-mail will have the payload. Name, and address, baby. Still looking for a drop!

So far, I have asked a couple of questions, Told them I opened a bank account, and transfered a LOT of cash into it soley for this "Job". I told them I was having a little bit of a problem getting the remaining $60,000 transfered, but I should be ready to go by Monday. They are friggin' snapping at the hook! The majority keep trying to convince Me to send My info, but a significant amount of them are resigned to wait for me to get my bank account ready for them.

I am 11 days into this bait. I sent "My Address" just 5 minutes ago. Here is my mail:

Nice work.... I can supply you with specific email addresses if you want to asem them... have a look in the insulting mass bait thread in completed baits... devguy and crossfire et.al. have a lot of experience with automailers and mass email.

When You work a list, do You have an efficient method of parsing bounces? I have gotten a 12 hour cool off by the google mail once from getting bounces. It also came after I set up a filter to delete certain bounces. Not sure if the filter triggered the cool-off.

The best methos appears to be - you guessed it.. more accounts. crossfire gave me some insight - google looks into accounts that send more that 100 mails per day, so split your addresses.

Also I can verify emails without compromise - do you have a particular flavour? e.g. lotto, n.o.k., any preference?

I get them from a repository, I grep all the addresses in the page (same as scammers do to normal vics but I do it on anti scam sites). Then I verify them before posting.

@kickstart: My laptop was down for 3 weeks or so, now I'm back. I am trying to get a drop box here in town, but the cost has me shopping around. I am on my 3rd rinse with my list and I have been seeding the net with fake ads to give my (tossable) phone number and (fake) name some googlable credit. Then I would be willing to share my list with You and vice versa. My droperator in the states has been excellent for this bait. When I'm done, I plan on taking the checks to a local news outfit and see if they want to do something with the info I will give them. Then, I plan on making a giant poster out of them.

I am in the middle of my 3rd rinse on the same list. Lookng right now at 103 different replies. I won't stall these guys 3 weeks before I give my info like the last 2 rinses. Just waiting for a good enough reason to pull the trigger and pay for a drop box in town. So far, the cheapest I've found is $45 for a 3 month commitment.....

It is a satisfying feeling to be pulling thse checks off the streets and costing the scammers some real money.

Definitely agree with letting the lawman know about that one. Would contact them for sure. They will want the fwding address and can get an intercept address for the deliveries so they can be returned and the charges on the CC's used reversed. These ones are the kinds they more want to hear - because they can do something about it.

At least - where I am that is so.

Another baiter here and I have been sharing information on what we've seen which has garnered a lot of valuable insight. This is a giant business these people have here. The checks we have been getting are super high quality, and for all kinds of denominations. We need more Drop Box Operators in the US !! I can easily estimate a million dollars per dropbox in checks within 2 months. Let's soak'em !

If anyone out there opens a drop box, whether it is a personal one time event or whatever, I can provide a good fertile list of check scammers to fill it with. They love to ship in the US.

You've done some excellent work on this project, and I feel honoured that you've shared some thoughts with me. I agree, it is a massive problem, and when viewed in conjunction with the web sites that are doing the same thing, it makes one wonder where it will all end.
Even my small operation is productive, statements like this are awesome.

Educate people that there is no free lunch
Get Regulators and LEA off their backside
Get Banks to be more proactive
Find the top class forgers

All we can achieve is to cause disruption, hopefully substantially, but this raises the problem you highlighted about drop boxes, and this has always been in my mind. How much grief will they tolerate before they start going after drop boxes?

I like the poster idea for the checks, money orders, and travelers checks.
The $500.00 American Express travelers and gift checks are really very pretty. I've got about $800,000.00 so far and have a framing guy working on a design. I'll post a pic when it's done.

I have a method of looking at my list to add fresh names onto and removing older ones. I save them as a .txt file, open them in word, change all commas into manual line breaks, open them in Excel, sort the file alphabetically, and when I get a reply i check it against the list. Then if I have a reply from, saw [email protected] and on my list I had a [email protected], then I know he has mutated his name. At that point I decide whether or not to replace, purge, etc.

When You find a competent check producer, You then can get lots of checks from him but you have to have more drop boxerators for it to work.

Great work here. Rather than just letting the lad off the hook after he produces a set of checks, get him to send you another. Tell him the checks must have flown out of your convertible on the way to the bank. On round three, your daughter's drug addicted boyfriend must have stolen them off your desk.

Thanks, Connie. I have found this early into the game so far, no-one has gone as far as to send another one. If they did, the lag between them sending and Me seeing is so great that I probably would have a hard time verifying them. For the most part it looks like they would rather send a check to someone else. It gets pretty funny at times to be able to look at the web tracking for a package saying "Delivered" and telling the scammer outright that I never received it ! And that "I'm getting mad" because "this smells like a scam!" LOL LOL

The last guy, I told him that I accidentally got all the checks mixed up and asked him to describe it. It was unabte to do this.

I called the guy on one of the letters I got. I cussed him out and told him he is a low life, etc. He was quite proud of himself. I never said anything about checks. I figured He didn't necessarily connect my baiting but maybe he thought I was someone who could tell that the checks were fake or something like that. I feel that it didn't violate my "never tell policy" LOL
