Calling in a favor from the vast 419ers.

20th Century Fox is having a vote to choose which Springfield is the "real" Springfield of The Simpsons for the debut of the movie later this month.

It's between us in Springfield, IL and 13 other Springfields. Sadly, this is just a popularity contest - because the number of similarities between our Springfield and The Simpsons Springfield would make your head spin... alas, our small population may not beat out the others...

*Mr. Groening grew up in Oregon.
*A number of Simpsons Springfield/Shelbyville landmarks match Springfield/Eugene, OR landmarks (the Jebediah Springfield statue, for instance).
*I'm biased because I live in Oregon.

Hmmm, a Springfield Louisiana....never knew that was there...

Being a Louisiana resident I done the RIGHT thing...I always thought the Simpsons were located in Springfield IL so that's what I voted.
