To slap or not to slap?

It's the FIRST message I've received from an impoverished 22 year old who seeks yada yada yada, and she says she's attached an image...

Yet no attachment? A gentle slap? Along the lines of, "My dear Ms. Wonka, I was unable to find an attachment with your last message. Are you all right?"

Actually, that sounds pretty good.

^^^ seems fine to me. Don't slap too hard too soon. But that seems more than fair. If she promises an attachment, she should follow up with one.

No need to slap over a unattached image. Just send 20 or so emails over the next day with large image and writejunk attachments, just to test and see if your lad can receive images as well as sending them. Ask him to reply to every email you send, and have him attach a different image to test the email provider and it's email attachment abilities... That should waste time and effort.

I don't think he'll forget next time.

I don't even think that's a slap.

But to answer your question, I rarely slap. I think you do far better if you just act like they are in charge. You can get away with a lot more if they think you are just trying to help them.

That's not to say that a good slap isn't due once in a while. I just don't do it often.

I save the slaps for when they ask me to do something really outrageous, like run around to a bunch of WU offices and make little payments or steal my disabled child's medication money. Or I just invent an insult and slap over that.

Unless you get a real smug or offensive mugu, I don't recommend slapping over "small" mistakes. The guidelines here are never slap for mistakes at all because it educates the lads. I mostly go by that rule, unless of course it will throw the lad off script, or if it's just really funny!

If you end up losing your bait because you went too over-board, don't worry. There will be more.

Lovely lass isn't she? I mini-slapped her for the lack of a picture but apparently she is 163 cm tall and weighs in at 53 kg. I think she's in love with me and truthfully, I have been feeling things for her also.

In my view slapping is usually counter-productive. To slap for a minor matter just risks loosing the bait for no good reason. When I do slap it's usually for my benefit. Much better to abuse a lad than to abuse the boss.

^^^^^ what they all said, particularly this early in the bait. I almost never issue slaps, and when I do, it's because my pet has failed yet again to retrieve the money I sent via Moneygram.
