I'm at newbie at this baiting .. got one going on for about three weeks now. Just playing to see how far it goes. I got a lot of great ideas from this site on how to slow / delay.

One question (idea?) I haven't seen yet and was wondering:
Has anyone here ever tried a double-reverse like these guys do? I mean after the find out that you're baiting (and scream and yell and holler), let them go for a few weeks, then follow up as an official investigation of the first baiter? "That perpetrator has been defrauding persons like yourself for months but we are on him"? I'd be interested in seeing how far it would go.

To answer your question. Yes. The good old double tap dance allegro (we call it) - No matter what you think up, if your lad thinks he can get a dollar he would care if you claimed to be a bucket of worms.

^^^ hmmm nice idea. I think I might have read of it being done before.

Shiver has certainly used a similar modality before by exposing his character as a fraud by the police and seeking cooperation in an investigation.

Hi Scamdh! Your thinking is as good as your intentions. I even recycle my lads.

After a bait ends (regardless of how), I just wait a couple of weeks at the longest and start all over with them. Most times I don't even change my character or address! About 90% of them are happy to play along, so they're either that busy, that desperate, or that blasted stupid. I've had a few ask me to stop doing that, especially after I send them a scoreboard photo that says "ME: 7, MUGU: 0" on it (my highest score so far, thanks to K1ng P1n).

You can usually re-bait these guys again and again with little or no difficulty, so feel free to experiment with them. As long as you mention money, they're usually in.

well I dont think they actually care or even perhaps take it in.I even told mine I was not able to talk to him as I had been up for 36 hours working on a fraud case, as that was my job.He is still with me waiting my cash transfer which my friend made for me to him.His question to me as it does not appear to have arrived ,is ,can I trust my friend??? and perhaps she has run off with my dosh!

Tell him you sent it to his assistant! Then make an e-mail addy for the assistant and give the lad that addy. Then you can act like a lad that has chopped the dolla of the first lad!

If you can think of a way to extend the bait then absolutely go for it. Play as the investigator, or as the work assistant to the original baiter and convince the scammer that you're truly on his side and the previous guy was just an idiot.

In regards to Shiver's baits of this kind, they're a perfect example of how to pull something like this off. It's believable and also makes your scammer highly worried that they might be getting a little too close to the law, so their motives are torn between wanting one last crack at the money but having to risk getting too involved with the police.

There's nothing as good as a lad caught in two minds.

In my opinion, a good baiter will not be found out, except by sheer bad luck. I try not to let lads know that they are being baited, because it makes them more wary and ruins the field for the next baiter.

But even good baiters make mistakes, and lads do sometimes realise what is happening. Nevertheless, I doubt that they will want to play along with your scheme, unless you can find a way to make it appear to be worthwhile financially. If there is no prospect of money, lads are not interested.

The old 'double reverse' to ME is contacting a lad as a millionaire who has no friends. Will 'YOU' be my friend?

A month or two later, my main character 'died' in a ghastly crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway/Belt Parkway/Santa Monica Freeway. Sadly, his buxom sexy 'primary caretaker' [included photo] and shyster lawyer [all 3 me] reveal that the Lad was left $250,000 USD for having been such a nice e-mail friend, and merely has to fly to the USA to claim it all. Time is running out to collect! All airfare his responsibility--in which case they start begging for a loan on it. This sounds familiar...

If That isn't a double-reverse on a lad, I dunno what is.
