The website Freedating has had a Ukraine based hacking attack between the 4th -8th of June. ID's , addresses and passwords have been stolen. Dan Winchester the owner has published warnings to change all passwords as some members use same one for their emails too. Here is an example from Dan's website. Standard stuff.

This is a scam!
You should delete it.
GENUINE MEMBERS WILL NOT HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, AND SO HAVE TO CONTACT YOU THROUGH THE SITE.

It is possible that a hacker will try and send you a "phishing" email, which purports to be from FreeDating.co.uk, but actually takes you to a fake site to try and steal your login information.

The easiest way to do this is to type www.freedating.co.uk into your browser, rather than clicking links in emails.

This type of scam is now running rampant on many of the free dating sites (okcupid.com for example). Id love to see some hints on how to scam these scammers! |

This was not just using profiles in site.This was a data steal from unauthorised entry to admin areas. Hacking attack. Any useage of the information gained from this is part of the criminal offence. HOWEVER WE DEAL WITH THE SCUM OF THE EARTH HERE, so carry on doing doing damage/Well you didn't expect anything less from what smelly stuff you get on your shoe by accident did you? |

The Vlads are primarily interested in getting databases of email addresses to pull the romance scams on, but since they're criminals, anything is possible.
They'll even sell collections of email addresses to each other, and some hackers specialize in selling email addresses...obtained....'somehow' from dating sites. |
