hey
Someone i know signed up to a dating site (datetheuk.com i thinks) not long ago and has been in contact with a guy from there for a while now. Emails started looking suspicious (Western union transfers etc etc) and when she spoke to me about this i instantly saw she was being scammed. They even said to her they had sent money to her by "Global Express Cargo" to london in boxes and then had someone call and send letters saying she owned money for shipping fees. The number she had was a mobile and i cant find any proper shipping info for that company outside of india so im pretty sure all thats absolute crap as well.
Now she did give her address, home telephone number and mobile number to the guy and she wanted me to post on here for just some advice on the best way to end it all and so she feels safe cus obviously shes now a bit worried cus he has personal information
Any advice wud be great and a quick reply wud be really appreciated as would put her mind as rest.
Also once weve sorted it for her i can post all his info on here and you lot can go at the bastard and make sure he dont do it again!!
Thanks everyone x |

If the perp keeps phoning her, she changes her telephone number(s), otherwise just ignoring (or blocking) all communications via email is wise. Don't even send a 'get lost I know what you are' message as it will encourage the perp to keep responding.
Ignore anything coming from the perp. He will get bored after a while and move on to someone else. |

Delia is quite correct. Tell her to block his emails and screen her calls for awhile. He will eventually get the message and move on. |

Scammers lose victims all the time and they just move on to the next one. Your friend can rest assured that this lad will do the same once he's got the message, and Delia and SF's advice is bang on about ensuring that. Your friend will need to change her email address, though, if she does not want to be inundated with more scams and a ton of spam. |

Perhaps you could provide us with the email of the scammer so we can provide a (at first anyway) tastier morsal for him to follow... |
