There are people here who have an amazing ability at Laddish, one of them will be along at some point. If you don't feel like waiting, you could also try the Ladspeak Translator, just search the forum for the link. Another possibility is to use reasonable English. The lad might think you are a great Oga, particularly if you tell him you are. I've never tried that last approach but I've read somewhere here that it can work.

For about 5 years, I worked the mean streets along with many West African & Middle Eastern gentlemen as a, shall we say, "transportation specialist". Cool

I can mimic the speech of both groups to a tee, including the characteristic "hoarse" timbre of the Africans, but must confess that writing their pidgin convincingly is an entirely new learning curve.

You don't need to write pidgin to be a guyman. Just write in english with bad spelling. If you start trying to be something you can't do convincingly it wouldn't work. If you claim to be from Africa but can't write it will be noticed. Hell, I can spot a fake guyman trying to use pidgin. Just use poor english. You have already demonstrated that.

Yep. What DrWho said. Writing in English will get you more respect and hook the lad deeper. It's worked for me a few times in the past and a lad has never, ever questioned my identity as another lad due to the language that I've used. You'll be suprised what you can get away with.
The hardest part is getting the lad to believe you're another scammer and you've already managed to do that, so bait away!!! Looks like you could have a sucker there.

As for the phone call? You don't need to ring him. There are plenty of excuses you can use. My final fallback is that I'm suspicious that he may be an EFCC mole and therefore I'm edgy until I get to know him more.

Remember also to put your lad in his place early.

Calling him "Boi" will mean that you see yourself as a more experienced lad than he and is a sort of talking-down to him tactic.
"Bro" or "Gee" (or in your case "Guy") will mean that you're both on the same level.
Your lad thinks he's up there with you. Try slapping him down with a couple of "Boi"s. Wink
