My nieghbours dogs became parents last week. 
She had a litter of 11 though they lost one (stillborn)
The parent dogs are brother and sister  their mother is a Mastiff; their father is a Mastiff/Rottweiler
These pups maybe cute but they're going to be huge!
Their father can easily place his paws on my shoulders and I'm 5'10"
When these pices were taken the pups were less than 2 hours old
Cute, eh? |

This seems like the best place to post this. Sorry if I go off on a tangent here.
My best friend, a man I served with for over 15 years, one of the toughest SOB's I know, broke down today.
I remember laying in 6 inches of water for a day and a half next to this man as bullits flew over our heads and morters landed near us. He never even blinked.
He was shot in the leg in Granada, and never even limped untill he was sure all of his team was safely on the huey.
He drug me out from under a pile of rubble in Iraq while insurgents were running all around us and never questioned his own safety.
He has 2 purple hearts, and is responsible for saving a dozen civilians by killing a sniper that didn't care who was in the crosshairs.
This man is a ROCK and a true American hero.
His dog died today. He called me in tears and I went to help bury her. He is asleep in my guest room right now because he is exhausted from the grief.
There is no friend like a good dog. Old soldiers seem to have a soft spot for children and dogs.
Thanks for posting the new puppies llamedos. It's just what he and I needed.

BA, My best wishes and thoughts are with your friend. It's wonderful that you can be there for him. Our pets become more than pets, they become part of us and our families. Their unconditional love and loyalty is priceless. Puppies and kitties, it's hard to be too sad around them. |
